I will not install Windows 7.
    ;)
    I can't install Windows 7.
I bought an upgrade but it won't let me upgrade from Vista.
So it's just a coaster at the moment.

I wouldn't mind paying for a MS product if it was the finished article but it never is!
You are paying your money for what is, essentially, a work in progress!
Perfection is impossible. Would you like a pet rock instead?

I didn't think office (or home editions of operating systems) were included in MSDNAA.

My bad i got the office keys from when i had a technet sub.

    On MSDNAA i get the professional versions of XP,Vista & 7. :)

I've had Win 7 64 bit since November & I've just counted 12 security updates installed in 3 months... not to mention the number of Windows updates (whatever they are) installed in the same period.

This will pretty much continue throughout the lifespan of Win 7 as more vulnerabilities are discovered, as has been the case with every OS Microsoft has released.

Toyota are in deep doodoo for having to recall millions of cars yet MS "recall" their products on an almost weekly basis & nobody seems to mind!

New hacks are made each & every day and ms have to react to these surely they cant predict the next hack to appear now can they hence these updates, it happens with every piece of software made.

Never had one problem with windows 7 nor did i with Vista dont see what people complained about lol saying that i did have 4gb of ram running it

    - thank god for that otherwise we would still be on Win3.1

"" This will pretty much continue throughout the lifespan of Win 7 as more vulnerabilities are discovered, as has been the case with every OS Microsoft has released. ""

    - thank god for that, it's only when companies fail-to-fix-it that we should worry !

As you are with Mac OSX, or with Linux (well you don't pay for Linux, but you know what I mean). You want work to progress on these. You want things to improve, presumably? You want new capabilities to be added to them, right?

And you only pay for them once. It isn't like you have to buy Windows 7 or Mac OSX then pay again for updates.
I've had Win 7 64 bit since November & I've just counted 12 security updates installed in 3 months... not to mention the number of Windows updates (whatever they are) installed in the same period.

So would you prefer it if they didn't fix faults? That's part of the service you paid for.
This will pretty much continue throughout the lifespan of Win 7 as more vulnerabilities are discovered, as has been the case with every OS Microsoft has released.

So, again, would you prefer they didn't bother fixing the holes then?
Toyota are in deep doodoo for having to recall millions of cars yet MS "recall" their products on an almost weekly basis & nobody seems to mind!

Well I don't mind people continually trying to improve the products I'm using, no.
And there's one important difference between faults in your desktop operating system and your car - who dies horribly by the side of a road each time your web browser crashes? No one.

Has anyone seen any sign of this specific update?

I'm set to manual update after notification, and am just being offered a few items, including the one about browser choice (which I'm declining), but no sign of this one
