Oh, thanks for this info - :T I didn't know you could freeze tomatoes - when mine eventually go red, (and I'm expecting the whole lot to turn at the same time, just to annoy), I'll try that - nice to have a way of preserving them for winter stews and soups. I tried pickling some in vinegar last year, but the taste was more vinegar than tomato, so not a lot of use really. If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0 -

I'm getting a large volume of beans from my plants!:j
Tomatoes are still doing ok. I did have a worry this week when in the high winds my small greenhouse blew over (it has a couple of cucumber plants & my lettuce in). It fell onto 2 tomato plants. Looks like I've lost 3 or 4 fruits, but could've been worse.
Harvested another 8 cucmbers the other day.:j
Picked a few brocolli florets today.:j
I am going to make some soup this week. I'll be throwing in some beans, brocolli, some grated courgettes, and some peas, sweetcorn, carrots & potatoes which I'll have to buy. Yum!It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I'm doing ok for runners. Eaten some, frozen some, given some away, and more to come!If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I seem to be the only person with no red tomatoes.
Anyone else having this problem? I've been saying to myself that everything is slower/later this year because of the late winter. However it is now almost the end of august & I don't think I have 1 red tomato.
I'm starting to wonder whether panicking might help? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I have had some red tomatoes, I am in Glasgow. I helped some along the way though by putting them on my windowsill, but some have went red of their own accord.
they'll get there eventually.:)0 -
I'm in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffs and mine are still green mostly, though some look like they want to turn red...still no reds yet though :-(Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

I've only had a few red ones, still got loads of green ones and if we don't get much more sun I can see me having to make some Green Tomato chutney."WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

<lemonjelly is relieved at not being the only one...>
I had an inspect of them today. I think one may be reddening (although that could just be me trying to convince myself):oIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
