  • The Occupational Therapy lady just rang to cancel. She has a stinky cold, and is on holiday next week so we have to wait 10 days now for another appt. She did sound really rough.

OS-iness has been confined to tidying my desk while I talked to her on the phone. Not sure that really counts though so apologies for an OT post.

Anyway, I am back to bed now, I hope everyone enjoys their day.

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

  • Morning all :hello:

Just to clarify, I'm not going to going anywhere. :)

Taplady, I'm sorry things are so hard. I really know where you're coming from on this one as the last couple of months have been the hardest we have ever had financially and like you, through no fault of our own. Take it easy honey. xxxx

Somehow my lazy evening in front of the telly led to a full blown snooze:o so I am up this morning to a messy house and lots of dishes....
Once that is sorted I am baking a carrot cake as MIL is coming this afternoon and then I promised the girls I would take them swimming.
Need to catch the hens who have gone up the cliff again.....
Tea will be quick and easy as the girls aren't here this evening and I'm not in the mood for cooking.

    Take care
    Haribo x

    HShi2.gif,everyone.

My house is messy as well,so will be remedying that shortly.DH has just rung to say we are seeing some friends for a curry tonight so thats good-no tea to make.I'll sort something quick for DSs,they tend not to eat a big meal on Fridays anyway, think its so they can fit more  in. The bad news is he's had to take the van in for a new starter motor this morning, its let him down a few times this week, but can't do without it for work so completely sympathize JC2703,as our car needed a new gearbox last month, which cost a fortune.Anything they make on this job is being swallowed up in car repairs

    Right,better carry on messbusting.Take care all.x

Tired Mum - really pleased that you have turned the corner with DS
Bargain Bird - I remember CPox well as I had four all together but at least it will be done with !

I have booked our trip to the Imperial War Museum and its on the same day as the OS meet up there which I did not realise. So I might get to meet a few OS ers but Im very self conscious ay the moment so might just gaze from afar. I bet I can tell who they are as Im very good at people watching.

Im sitting on my hands re kids. Its truly awful but I will persist until they start to help out a bit - I only want a little help from them. Anyway Im a kid down as DD has gone to Cornwall on the train to see her friend for a few days. I have already had three phone calls as she couldn't find the ticket office at Reading station  Her dad sorted her out as he works just next door.

Was very shocked by the death of Alexander McQueen - obviously devastated by the death of his mum. I have also been very moved by the interview with Gordon Brown and Sarah -- especially talking about the loss of their baby but im a little cynical that its a political ploy and thats very sad as they were obviously very upset when talking about it on TV.

Suppose i had better wobble off as have to go to the post office. xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Hi Guys!

Thanks for all the nice messages and support. It means a lot.

We decided to not go away in the end and will wait till after the funeral. Everything sorted for funeral. I can't believe the costs of sprays etc for the coffin:eek::eek::eek:....bloomin mental! The catering costs are horrendous too. I suggested tea, coffee, cake and biscuits and got laughed at:rotfl:...do people actualy eat a lot at a wake?

OH is really feeling it atm, so we are trying to keep ourselves busy which is difficult when you're not well:o....this morning, I sat on my stool and helped OH sort out under the stairs. There were a few bits that I have tried to sell on Ebay but will just charity bag or freecycle as I would love to be clutter free this year and simplify everything.

WM, DW and TD have been on this morning. House clean and tidy too.

Have about 25 eggs and was wondering how easy a lemon drizzle cake is to make as Ive heard so many say about it before. Could they be frozen? Any easy Coffee and walnut cake recipes?

GP came out to see me yesterday and gave me some liquid morphine to top up on the jabs, but havent taken any yet as Im not sure if it will knock me out or be spacey as I need to be ok for OH.

    Taplady-Thinking of you!

Haribo-Hoping it's not me:D but i've had to put people on my ignore list before as some are just out to cause trouble. There is 1 person who posts and I never get where her posts are going or if they are digs at people etc....nothing as queer as folk!

Anyway, hope everyone else is okay.
