Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 10th Feb.It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Blimey he's an early riser! I'm on ngiht shift so I'm yet to go to bed....roll on 7am!!! I'll be getting up about 12.30 as I have a man coming to look at my downstairs toilet, the water keeps running after the cistern has filled up after flushing. I'm planning to spend the afternoon baking bread, cakes and biscuits, all of which will be frozen before I eat them all and ruin the diet!!!

Have a good day everyone x

    Morning OS lovelies,
Morning bargain and Lisa - I have to say I do like having company at silly O'clock when I get up, so it's nice to see you both!
Donnygal - that was very funny!
floss - you should definitely buy them. Shoes are too important not to indulge in!
Julie - thinking of you and sending positive vibes. My sister has MS and has done for 20 yrs so if it turns out to be so, feel free to pm.
Lowesy - still in my thoughts
angUk - that is fabulous news about Martyn and I hope he continues to get well so you can have him home soon.
Sunny - at 0600 yesterday morning, the Body shop hemp hand protector came back into stock so I ordered and used the code and only spent £12. Saved £17 plus the free postage. Thank you for mentioning it, I rarely check that other board.
Snoozer - I am glad the news was mainly good. A little op is nothing for the peace of mind.
Heavenleigh - I know you were only teasing and so was I.. in a previous life I was barely getting into the house at 0300 never mind having been to bed and getting back up again at that time!!
nic1 - great news about the car but so sad for your friend and her mum. Will remember her in my prayers.
Tru - Lovely to see you posting.
Candy - glad your little ones sore bits are healing up
Haribo - I hope putting whoever it was on ignore works for you as we always miss your posts!

Could I ask for some positive vibes around 1430 for our meeting with the OT/Social worker lady today please? Would be very grateful. We need the outcome to be the way we want it to be. Thank you.

HShungry.gif Breakfast will be porridge cos I am sooo cold today. Lunch will be HM bread toasted with cheese and HM chilli oil drizzled on top. (yes, the same as yesterday as it was so delicious!) Dinner will be gammon cooked in cola. We got 3 peices of gammon each around 750g for just £10 in Tescos this week so will cook them and freeze slices of it for sandwiches which should work out a lot cheaper than buying ham which has had to come off the menu recently!
I have some darning to do today which I really enjoy. Not sure why, I just think it's very satisfying. I cannot make clothes but I am very very good at mending them! Plus we have a visit from the OT so will have to put some slap on so I don't scare the horses.
I hope everyones day is as good as it can be, and that anyone feeling poorly head%20cold.gif feels better soon. With love, light and squishy grouphug3.gif for all.

    Morning all :)

Hope you've managed to go back to sleep bargainbird :)

I've had awful cramp all night, so gave up on sleeping in the end :(

Well, DD1 will be having friends over today, ready to celebrate her birthday tomorrow. I have a few mixed feelings about her being 13. I don't know why, I just think she is growing up so fast, it's scary

I'm going to make a chicken curry and some breaded chicken strips for tonight, plus wedges or rice, with the girls and their friends, as they all love cooking :) Plus, it means I'm not struggling on my own.

Later, one of her friends is coming up from Wales to stay over too, so it will be a busy house tonight.

Good luck with the OT, MSD. Hope they are able to help :)

Enjoy your afternoon baking, lisa :)

(((HUGS))) to the poorlies and those who want one :)

Habe a good day, all :)

    Morning peeps

can`t believe its almost 7am already  i love the early mornings and i`ve got tons done already, other people are slowly filtering into w*rk now so its not as quiet but it feels more like lunchtime to me :D think thats just an excuse to have some toast really lol.

Guess what - didn`t start the painting yesterday :p we got all the prep done for the ceiling though which took rather longer than we thought, when i was wiping the new plaster down to fetch the dust off there were lots of tiny bits that needed scraping off so they were taken care of. I didn`t want to rush ahead and have niggly bits that annoyed me afterwards.

DH is off today so i shall ring him in a while and ask hime to empty the contents of the slow cooker, he is in charge of the kitchen until i get home and he is also the nominated shopper for the supermarket run this week so he will be going this morning rather than tomorrow evening.

Bitsy / Diva - Glad that you managed to order the hand protector, it was such a bargain and i remember when we had the handcream discussion a while back that quite a few people used it.

Anguk - Great news that Martyn is going from strength to strength :j

Nic - Sorry to hear your sad news ((((HUGS))))

Tru - We need some chicken tales to read about - i love hearing about them :D

I`m off in search of food methinks :p

Have a great day gang :D

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Diva Good luck with the OT - sending vibes your way. Also thank you so much for the cd's you sent me yesterday - I love show tunes and will be singing my heart out later clap.gif xxx

Anguk Brilliant news re Martyn! thumbs%20up.gif

Hart44 Hope you can catch your breath later on after your mega busy day.

Bargainbird Your tea sounds delish - can I come please?

Lisa The baking sounds great - I'm going to do some at the weekend ready for half term's onslaught!

Haribo Don't stop posting I love reading your posts.

Up to a nasty job this morning as Susie Labrador had had a smelly accident on the kitchen carpet runner sillywink.gif (Sorry if TMI at this time of the morning) Why she couldn't have gone on the rest of the floor which is tiled is beyond me! All sorted now though.

Plans for today are to yesterdays Flylady list & todays too, do some ironing, dust & vac downstairs and then hopefully read my book later.

Lunch will be soup - no idea what variety I just pulled some out of the freezer Tea tonight is a take away treat courtesy of DH

Have a good day everyone OS or not and take care in the cold.

Good Luck for your meeting MSD
Glad to see hubby is going from strength to strength Anguk.

Friday again :jhave DD on inset day but need to ring her orthodontist as she has lost a bracket on her brace again  I absolutely hate going there, its 45 minutes each way, we often have to wait a long time and she moans all the way back :( So will be very glad when that is over and done with.

Need to pay some money in the bank so will be going to little town at somepoint.

Have to start looking at some cheap or ideally free things to do next week. February half term is my least favourite. The cinema will feature at some point as I have vouchers or we can visit our little local one which is only £2. Also aim to get to see the Ministry of Food Exhibition.

Anyway today will be fitting in office work and housework around the ortho visit, hopefully DD will keep herself in her bedroom as she does drive me mad - always moaning about something :rotfl:teenagers you gotta love them.

    Have a great Friday.

    Morning all,

Cold here but no snow, its raining, I still have a raging sore throat and headache, will take some more pills in a while and see how it goes.

Need to put a wash on tonight, will get dd's uniform done i think, then I can put it away till after half term.

Chilli and rice for dinner, will make up a large veggie one too, and put the extra in the freezer, need to build up my stock of hm veggie meals.

We are supposed to be having the electrician turning up this morning, he is a friend so can let himself into the house, but he has been off sick all week, so its not looking good.

Porridge and a banana for breakfast for me, dd had toast, banana, grapes and juice. Lunch for me will be a tuna salad sandwich with grapes to follow, dd had a cheese sandwich, yogurt grapes and apple.

Nic, big hugs to your friend and her mum xx

Snoozer, Good luck for the op, hope all goes well xx

Julie, hope you get the outcome you want xx

    Have good days all xx

    morning!

off to work later and sleeping in then have got 3 days off.
just checked the online banking:eek: not good - dont know how we'll struggle through till my payday on the 25th as DH only got the very basic SSP. Thats the trouble with living hand to mouth as such - it only takes one disaster and you're in the sh*t.
DH worried enough as it is about his health without the worry of money!
sorry to keep moaning about it but its on my mind a lot obviously.

    (((hugs))) to those in need.

Diva - good luck for the meeting

have a lovely weekend all x
