According to the my account on the website, mine will come on Wednesday. I will update as soon as I can after taking delivery.

Dunno if this is a silly question, but how did you check your on-line account with them? I can't see no login/sign-on button. My quidco cash-back is showing up, but nothing has been taken from my credit card yet.

I was not aware there was a 'my account' facility

Recieved the NGV35 this AM, £133.19 with £4.44 tracking on Quidco for a total of £128.75....:j

Never recieved an email from BC about delivery or confirmation about order (suppose it's poss that i done a typo on the email addy i sent, but don't think so).

Looks like a really good deal, although i have to admit i have never owned a camcorder before and really only bought this on a whim, but it looks fine and i can't see any problems so far.

So a thank you to the OP from me..

Now about to spend about 4 hours learning how to use it.....start, stop, !!!!!!!!!

I bought this camera so that I can archive tapes recorded on a now broken JVC machine to different media. I have since read a user review that the two formats are not compatible  and there is something in the manual about this.

I would appreciate if you can spare the time to confirm this or not. My machine is due to arrive Wednesday, may be too late to cancel anyway now

IF your old JVC is analogue then you would need a camcorder that would have DV in and also the facility to record the analogue in digital format. Most of the 'up-market' Pannys can do this. The cam you have bought has DV in but not sure if it has the convert facility...anyone checked their manual and can help out here?
You can also refuse delivery at the door...but let BC know first if you intend to do this.

Okay I have looked at the manual and it does not have convert facility...also even if it had you would need a working camcorder to play your old tapes in so that you could connect to the Panny for conversion...it seems you are going to have trouble with this either way.
There are companies who will convert tapes for you a reasonable cost..the Panny you have ordered is a good buy, consider keeping it.

"The User review that I read said he could not play his mini DV tapes recorded on a JVC machine on this Panny as the two formats are not compatible"

Well this is news to me...the only difference with tapes is it's possible the lubrication used...the JVC may have residues that will leave deposits on the Panny head...I have two Sony VX2100's and would never mix tape makes because of this residue (JVC tapes are in my opinion not the best to use...and it is only my opinion!)
You should have no probem...use a tape head clearer after though....or stick with JVC tapes. (personally I think Panasonic are the best...even in my Sony.)

...also I see no reference to the EB model on my order...?

Hi my camera also arrived today, willr eplace my 5 year old canon, which i had a 5 year warranty on which expires end of this month...domestic & general wanted £70 for extra years cover, but prefer new camera!
    great bargain for £132
thanks to the original poster for this
  • Mine showed up yesterday morning... had just enough time to open the box and find that the camcorder is so small it virtually disappears in my meaty paws. This is PERFECT for my upcoming holiday, and for £132 I will not complain at all!

Now to get some tapes and a card.

    Thanks OP!
