ive been to a party at some type of zoo/animal place in kent area. cant for life of me think what is was called, but they did a cold buffet (similar to picnic food), and you were allowed to use the grounds, rather than stay in the actual building. i know my kids got plates of food and sat outside to eat it, as it was a nice day

dont think it was horrendous money, as my friends arent the sort to blow money on £50 a head menus

hi carmen it is not just me then and no i am not your fianc! unless you are mine in disguise and he doesnt really worry too much about the details so i am sure you are not! :rotfl:have you found a venue????
Nope, we haen't found a venue yet- we're having the actual wedding in the local registrar's office, but want to find somewhere that will do a meal for us and our families afterwards- I've ruled out two local-ish(but still quite far away) veggie restaurants, but there's a third one which is my favourite and a maybe, but it's right in the city centre down a wee lane so my fiance thought it might be difficult and expensive to get to transport-wise. There's also the option of asking a more local easy-to-get-to hotel or restaurant if they'll cater for our group with vegan food, so I'm hoping I'll find one happy to cater for us and within our budget!

jjbargaingal - the links you have posted are for really lovely different locations, just a pity they are not in our part of the country.

I am searching for somewhere for my daughter in Leicestershire and so far everything we have looked as just seems so similar. So if anyone can please recommend anywhere in Leicestershire we would be very grateful.

Have a look in Primark, you can get some fab glittery ones for under a £1, and if your lucky they may be cheaper now due to time of the year.

I can verify this! Went into Primark yesterday and snapped 11 glittery pairs up in various colours, will probably buy 4 more pairs to make it up to 15 in total.. Also picked up a nice wicker basked to put them into for a fiver!

Hey, I just wanted to recommend these folks (http://www.veg-out-sussex.com/) to the veg-heads. They catered our all vegan wedding last summer, and it was very yummy. The owners/chef/baker are all fabulous, and did a great job setting up, serving and everything.

We also ended up with a vegetarian photographer (didn't know this til our first meeting), who was a-mazing! http://www.photodabek.co.uk/

To the op...if you take care of the legal bit in the registrar's office, you have a lot of freedom. We married, on the beach in Bournemouth and had my husband's aunt to "officiate"in both English and Norwegian. We had vegan food, our own special entrance music, and it was just overall a very cool day.

To update- I've contacted a few local hotels and restaurants, and 3 have gotten back to me saying vegan food won't be a problem, and I should make an appointment to comein and discuss menus with the chef.:jSo we'll be doing this within the next fortnight or so once we've set a date with the registrar... my current favourite is the lovely big hotel I've been in before for a xmas party with my old work, it' sliterally across the road from the registrar's office and they've quoted us the best price!

that sounds brilliant have you found a venue outside? we had found one back home which i thought would be ok but they can't do the sort of menu we need. searched whole of kent and sussex and we now only have one venue that is on the ok list that we are going to visit but it is an inside room :( we were originally eloping to marry in a field in scotland so this has been a big compromise and i am worried being stuck inside is too much of one really :(

Have you looked at Kent life?
