that sounds brilliant have you found a venue outside? we had found one back home which i thought would be ok but they can't do the sort of menu we need. searched whole of kent and sussex and we now only have one venue that is on the ok list that we are going to visit but it is an inside room
we were originally eloping to marry in a field in scotland so this has been a big compromise and i am worried being stuck inside is too much of one really
We will be having the wedding breakfast inside, there is a courtyard outside for the ceremony, and then we go in for the breakfast, they put the tables and chairs back out so we can go back oIutside and sit. I guess though that if you wanted an outside breakfast, they could do it for a smaller number.
There is a place near Faversham called Ephraim Gardens, pretty sure they do outside weddings, as do the Turkey Mill near Maidstone, and there is a place in Sittingbourne too I am sure? Let me go off and see what links I have kept xI have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

We're having palm trees, salsa and ceviche, which is pretty unusual for the UK!Married Ajichombo on 17th April 2010 :j0

If you are looking for somewhere more rural, there is the lost village of dode, but it's quite small. Someone else on here was getting married at a hotel in Pegwell Bay, overlooking the sea, and it seemed very reasonably priced. Perhaps hiring a marquee and having a garden tea party might feel more like you? xI have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Oh there is a place called Winters Barns near Canterbury too which looks fab, but I think the hire charge alone was about £4k...but you know you might be able to get that down a bit.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

thanks taadaa the lost village of dode looks amazing but more than we can afford. our problem has been finding a venue where we can get vegetarian food. it has proved to be a complete nightmare so far. place we really loved back home has 6 nominated caterers and will only allow them to be used and only one can do the food so its all been very disappointing.
as for a marquee if we have one we will have given up and used our garden and we will have a yurt and i will be doing all the food. i love cooking and could easily do garden tea party food for everyone but i just want to be able to have a day off and a relaxing break. also partner says he will help but he is dreadful at helping so i know thats not likelyi want 1001 paper cranes so was going to start making them his response when i asked for help is he can't do them! so not much of a helper really!!
I told him start practising and then you will get the hang of it!
your venue looks lovely and i hope you get fantastic weather - when is your date?0 -

thanks we've looked at that too but far more than we can afford. we have maximum budget of £3000 - was initially £1000just so that we can find somewhere that does food we can eat. this is the best local candidate so far for us so just waiting to go and view now (bearing in mind it is not outside) - is dearer than our budget for a mid week half a day ceremony but it looks nice and unlike everywhere else they sent us a lovely menu that is exactly what we had asked for:T

12th August...heres hoping for a bit of sunshine, but you can never tell really can you? I keep on telling me that inside is just as nice, just in case...not sure if I believe it yet though!!
Have you got anyone who can help you with food, or if you save on venue hire, can you get someone in to do the food? That is really disappointing about the vegetarian option, you wouldn't think it's that hard to do these days! xI have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off
