I'm sorted with mealplans for a couple of weeks, so here goes:
Monday: Steak and Chips
Tuesday: Shrove Tuesday Party. There'll be 2 savoury pancake dishes - cheese and bacon pancake bake and bolognese pancake cannelloni, as well as sweet pancakes for dessert.
Wednesday: Omelettes
Thursday: Thai Prawn Curry
Friday: Black Bean Chicken Noodles
Saturday: Jambalaya
Sunday: Roast Chicken, Roast Potatoes and Veggies
Have a good week, everyone.

Boodle Do you have a recipe for Pink Pate please? I'm intrigued

Hi SunnyGirl
I have just been blitzing cooked butter beans, black eye beans (cos they are what I have in the cupboard but kidney beans would work very well in keeping with the theme
) and red lentils together (just cooked them all in the same pot). Last week I added some dill, white pepper, lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil to taste. You could really play with the flavours though; chilli/paprika and dill/cumin and chilli powder would all work well I think. Love and compassion to all x0 -
Hi all
I kinda of heard of weekly meal plans, but never attempted one myself.
How does it work? Do you do some rotation of meals? Or do you do a stock take of what is the cupboards? Anyhow, how does one start on the meal planning path?
Thank you.
Katia
Edit: is it really moneysaving thing?0 -

Erm, you plan your week's meals... sorry, I know that's not very helpful but I don't understand how people shop without a meal plan, how would you know what to buy?
I suppose some people buy what's cheap/ on offer then plan around it but I just decide what I'm having this week then shop accordingly.

Dunno whether the weeks are rolling around quicker, but my meal plans are rolling later! Am so busy at the moment (haven't had a weekend off since Christmas) that OH is doing a lot of the cooking. So this is very rough, as he refuses to be bound by my planny stuff.
Sat (already done): scallops wrapped in pancetta with sauce vierge (wonderful); M&S sea bass with ginger butter and roast veges (not at all wonderful, too boney and not a lot of flavour, overcooked by me as well); M&S choccy puddings and cream (very yum).
Sun: I am thinking of a quiche with either leeks & cheese or a frittata, plus new potatoes and some tomato salad
Mon: Vegetarian lasagna using up some peppers (and aubergine without anyone noticing)
Tues: mackerel with moroccan spices, couscous with fruit & chick peas (omelette for children if they don't like this)
Wed: sweet & sour pork, rice, green veg (made with tofu for dd)
Thurs: spaghetti & meatballs (sauce without meatballs for dd)
Fri: thai red beef curry, rice (egg & chips for children)Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000 -
