Talktalk or Sky Broadband?

Care to share? I was thinking of switching, but perhaps not...?
As others have pointed out their CS is useless. You can never believe what they tell you as you get different replies. Trying to leave them is a nightmare. I was with them a few years ago and when I cancelled then they continued billing. When I finally cancelled the DD they sent a 'very threatening' letter saying they were gonna send it to a debt collection agency.
They have just taken over my Tiscali account and are already continuing to bill me even thou I cancelled as per their (TT) instructions.
Go to o2 or BE There if you can!0 -

Thanks for that, the more I look into this the more frit I am of moving at all - it all seems like a nightmare. I've never been unhappy with my current provider - Madasafish (who you never hear of anymore), but their prices have gradually crept up and up so I was looking at cheaper alternatives.
Maybe I'll see if I can persuade them to cut a loyalty deal instead!0 -

O2 Home Broadband is good, if you live in one of their LLU areas.0 -

Apparently not. According to SamKnows, my choices are:
BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
And that's it. I'm not sure where that leaves my current provider though?
This really isn't helped by my complete and utter lack of understanding of how it all works!0 -

LLU means they have their own equipment in the exchange and so not reliant on BT except for the line to your house from the exchange. Your broadband as it is not LLU is based on BT's Broadband infrastructure for some or all of it.0 -

Who is your telephone line with? If it is with BT try entering it on O2 website to see if you can get it? What about Vigin Media?
Ironically it was Madasafish I switched to when I left talktalk years ago. Madasafish are expensive!0 -

Oh I see, thank you.
Is it good or bad to move away from BT equipment to a supplier's LLU stuff?0 -

You don't want non-LLU O2 Broadband as it is known to be pretty rubbish. Sorry if this confuses you more. O2 Broadband will be BT Broadband re-sold as O2 Home Access in non-LLU areas.0 -

My telephone line is with Madasafish too. Yes, they are expensive now, which is why I want to change. Amazing how quickly things change though - when I took the service out two and a half years ago they were the best deal around by a long shot!0 -

Normally it is cheaper and tends to be faster. Many of BT's services are still limted to 8Mb, whereas many LLU operators can offer more.
The problem with moving your landline to TalkTalk is they will take your line rental and you will find it hard to move your line to someone else if you are not happy after 18 months. What you really want is an LLU broadband only solution but you can't.0
