  • Morning.
Rough night which has left me with a badly muzzy head. Am trying to ease it with coffee and reduced mini dougnuts we bought last night ;)
Had a light dusting of snow yesterday afternoon and it froze within a couple of hours so side roads here are treacherous.
Went to Nursery parents evening. Two very proud parents came back. DS is achieving all his targets and in the areas of maths is exceeding them so they are going to push him a little bit more in that area. Numbers have become his "thing" (in addition to the obsession with space, rockets and robots ;)) so perhaps he'll be a maths boffin. Doesn't get that from his mother :rotfl::rotfl:
Chicken curry for tea, cottage pie for the kids which I must remember to get out of the freezer.
Not much else going on today - DS wants to go for a walk over the local fields in the snow. Our back patio is like an ice rink so not really safe for them - had better geet the thermals on though when we go brrrrrr.

lowesy - Yes take sunscreen. Even if it isn't that hot we should all put it on (I've heard it said even in winter if you're going to be exposed to the sun). Hope you have a lovely time and :rotfl: @ your friend Mark!

Julie - sorry your hospital visit didn't go that well. No advice to give but have a :grouphug: from me xx

tru - you'd hate my local council. Their <ahem> "recycling" is a total waste of time. they've only just started collecting plastic and glass. Only the plastic isn't all plastics just the ones they can sell on so no meat trays, yoghurt pots etc. So in addition to the 2 recycling bins the council gave us I have also got to find room for all the other recycling they won't take. Oh and they don't take corrugated cardboard or tetra packs or anything vaguely useful except my free weekly newspapers and junk mail  Sorry that turned into a bit of a rant :o

Right off to read the end of yesterday thread and sort kids out who are bickering!
Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.

    Morning All
As I think I may have already mentioned :o DH is taking me away to Lanzarote next week for a bit of sun - does anyone think that I may need sunscreen...? And if so, does anyone know of any deals? DH and I have totally different skin tones as well typically!

Have a look here yes you will need sunscreen, and also a cardigan/fleece warm jacket/coat for the evenings. This forecast is good for all of Spain and if you click on "ver la proxima semana" it gives you the next week, though it looks like the temperatures in the evening there are warmer than they are here. Hoy = today, Manana = tomorrow, then you can guess the days after that or translate it with google.hugelaugh.gif

Hope you have a lovely time, and yes can't people thoughtless when being kind, a day after I returned to work after having DS, someone asked me "don't you miss him"

Thanks Bitsy - you're probably right we should probably wear it all the time even here in the depths of winter!

    Hi everyone,

Well I got the results from my second biopsy and it was good news/badnews IYSWIM. I have to have a lumpectomy but it's a preventative measure as the cells are pre-cancerous. The nurse who rang seemed to think I would be upset but I was expecting it. DH was a bit shocked though, I told him I was surprised because I'd warned him I thought this was what would happen. He told me that He'd just thought I was being pessimistic!

Mum is getting better quite quickly thank goodness, although she hasn't been able to walk yet so I hope she can get going soon otherwise she won't be able to go home.

AngUK I'm so pleased to hear about Martyn. I didn't read the thread yesterday so I hope I haven't mised anything important.

OS wise has been a bit limited I'm afraid but hope to flylady over the weekedn because I've been away for the past two.

Morning all, healing thoughts to all those who are in need.Anguk, glad Martyn is improving so well.

Lowesy-I had a facial basal cell carcinoma removed a few years ago,and the consultant told me to wear nothing less than F25 in winter, and stronger in summer, every day without fail.In winter I use a Clin!que moisturiser with it already in,and it just became part of my morning routine. So I'd def start doing it while youre younger, certainly abroad.Hope you have a good break,I'm sure it'll do you good.Glad you've got good friends like Mark :)

I'm meeting two friends I used to work with,at lunchtime,so just going to do a bit of ironing, then get ready.Be nice to have a catch up.

Got a meal deal at Sains yesterday,so easy tea tonight as I'll be out this aft.
My crochet blanket is doing well,15 squares now, only about 75 to go.I love playing about with the colours-I arranged them on the dining table, and keep switching them around to see what looks best.:rotfl:

  • Good afternoon all,

MSD You know what i mean, it's not normal to be typing away at 3am, and if i was to place money on it I'd safely say it is usually us three :rotfl:

Well the day so far has been semi-productive, the wm is on, made the children fresh pancakes for breakfast and the chicken is in the slow cooker, i have also bleached right through the kitchen and am about to make a weetabix cake and some fairy buns.
Nothing compared to the scale of things most of you do day to day, but considering i have spent the last couple of weeks moping on the sofa and struggling to get dressed in a morning i'm feeling slightly more positive today xx

I will save my tesco £1 savings stamps this year! .......so far = £50 (full card#1)
Card #2 £6. I will not be skint at Chistmas this year!

    Total £56

Lowesy - hope you have a relaxing holiday x
Anguk - Glad that hubby will be home soon
Snoozer - its still a shock even though you prepared for it but at least they caught it early.
Julie 67 - Fingers crossed and hugs
Sandy - Hope your arm ok

Well not much OS this week on account of the fact that I am on strike with my kids. DS3 has noticed but not the rest:mad: My cleaner is here today and is on strict instructions not to clear up their stuff.

Im planning a trip to the Imperial war Museum to see Th Ministry of Food exhibition. Im pleased cos there are disabled spaces and I can scoot round. Kids dad taking me - I need something to look forward to. Just hoping im ok on that day. My book of the exhibition has arrived so going to have a look at that today x
