    Morning :hello:
Where did January go? Time's moving too fast for my liking :D

Our council's given us new bins for kitchen waste. Bout time too, but I won't be putting mine out (nice to see that most other people are though) - my scraps only travel as far as the compost bins at the bottom of the garden :D We now have fornightly collections for normal rubbish, and weekly collections for recycling. I wish the emphasis was on re-using instead recycling, I'm sure people ending up wasting more cos their conscience is clear - "I recycle everything". Re-use it, it's less wasteful, cheaper and OS :D

I've stitched a load of old towels and tea towels together to make thick cosy liners for the rabbits and piggy cages. They're much easier to clean out now, and there's less waste, which gets thrown in the compost bins.

We visited our chicken lady at the weekend, to buy more corn. I fell in love with some Bluebell (Blue Ranger) hens. She said they'd all been sold but was waiting for some more to hatch. We rang a friend, he said we could borrow a heatlamp. We dug a small guinea pig cage out of the shed. Rescued some cardboard. We're now waiting for a phone call (will be today or tomorrow), so we can pick up five 1 day old chicks :j We've got lots of customers-in-waiting for the eggs :j Long wait though, they won't start laying til August :rotfl:

Completely OT - the new series of Supernatural started last night (the devil is coming  ), I recorded it and can't wait to watch it today :D

    Morning all

I have a big yawny head on this morning...hoping to partially cure it with the coffee DS1 is making me :D

Not a lot os is going on here at the moment - kids had hm soup and bread for dinner we had left over gammon with scrambled egg and cheese with toast.

I've a few MS jobs to fit around work today but they are not out of my way nor are they very tasking but they will add a little money to the pot!

Need to do a 'mini budget' for the next week - things went a bit haywire when i was away (DH always spends more on food for a weekend for 3 of them than I would spend of 7 in a week....) so just feel the need for a list of what I have and what needs to go out.

When the kitchen got put in the guys replaced the sockets and the one where the fridge is keeps tripping the electric - not sure whether its the fridge or the socket. It is more likely to be the fridge as its icing up and freezing things! Can't afford to replace it just now.

    Have a good day

    Morning all

Love and hugs to those who are sad or poorly.

Light and very cold with a sprinkling of snow here this morning. Had another lovely dinner last night, lamb hotpot with cauli and broccolli cheese, mmmm, delish. Tonights dinner will be chicken breasts in a creamy mushroom sauce with vegetable rice. All the HM treats I made have now gone, but did make a fruit loaf in the BM last night so have that to be going on with, but need to do some more baking at some point today or tomorrow.

Will be heading for the scales shortly, really hope I've lost at least 1lb but have to wait and see, would be a nice start to the half term and my hols if I have! Will be doing housework, washing, drying and ironing today, also just doing any last minute adjustments to my online food shop that it is being delivered tomorrow morning, will also do a menu plan for next week. Will be researching a few things to do with the boys next week, as many free ones as possible!! Our local library has just re-opened after a major refit so will take the boys there as we haven't used the library for ages. Have a table booked for lunch on Sunday as youngest DS has a birthday party to go to in the next town so we'll have lunch whilst he's at the party - saves me cooking!!

Need to head off now and get ready for the day ahead.

Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Good Morning All.

Warm hugs to everybody. It's freezing!

I didn't manage to post yesterday but just caught up.

Well I had a break through with the crochet last night and completed a granny square Ya:j been trying for ages and ages....

Today I am making Delia's chocolate fudge cake for my DB birthday as I am sticking to my pledge to make all birthday presents this year:A
He has invited us for tea tonight so it will make a nice change from cooking.

Donny Girl do you live in Australia. We lived there a few years ago and the paint was soo expensive we used to get ours from the local tip LOL:rotfl:I know that sounds a bit sad but they always had almost full tins at a fraction of the price.

Had a difficult day yesterday as I saw a neorologist at the hospital. Been waiting for the appointment for ages and thought he would just put my mind at rest but it seems he thinks there is a problem, got to have a barrage of tests including a MR spine scan so a bit scary. DH came with me to hold my hand but seems MS is a real possibility. Spent the whole night tossing and turning but feel better this morning. Not a lot I can do so just going to try and be positive.

Have a lovely day everyone. Keep warm x

    Morning All

Just had another onslaught of "Oh I'm so sorry"s, but a cominbination of two things stopped me from becoming a blubbering wreck at work - number one I'm still dopy from the sleeping tablet I took last night (WOW they're STRONG!) and number two my dear friend Mark took that moment to walk up and say "Good to see you back darling - I had a dream about you last night"  Needless to say, the sorryers and I took this moment to ridicule him mercilessly whilst he was backtracking furiously saying, "I only meant that you were in it" :rotfl::rotfl: and that is why he is a dear dear friend to me love him

Did a bit of ironing yesterday when I got home and then cooked the biriani (sp?) but afterwards I had a bit of pain so I'm going to the doctors tonight. Perhaps it was a bit much to hope that once I got back to work I'd go straight back to normal physically too...? So with the doctors and the niggly pain, I think it'll be an egg and chips night tonight for tea.

As I think I may have already mentioned :o DH is taking me away to Lanzarote next week for a bit of sun - does anyone think that I may need sunscreen...? And if so, does anyone know of any deals? DH and I have totally different skin tones as well typically!

Oh just as a footnote - what happened to the rolling eyes smilie? Most of the stuff I say needs rolling eyes - I do talk a lot of rubbish... :D

Hope everyone is well, hugs in abundance (although there is a danger I may fall asleep on your shoulder if you hug me :o) xx

No we are out in our house in Spain for a couple of months, and while some things are very cheap out here, others are ridiculous.

Sorry your news from the Hospital was not good, fingers crossed the resulting tests give you better news.

    Good morning all!! :)

Firstly, thanks for all your lovely birthday wishes, I was thoroughly spoilt by DH :D and completely embarrassed when the waiter in the restaurant made me stand up and got everybody to sing Happy Birthday :o:o:o:o. But had a lovely day with more celebrations to come at the weekend :j_party_

Lowesy - Hope your first day back went well (((hugs)))
Sandy - Fingers and toes crossed that you don't need surgery on your arm
Bargainbird - Hope DS' chicken pox clears up soon and he's not too bothered by it
DonnyGal - that thing about parents is fab and so very true as well! :rotfl:
Floss - I say go for the KG's. I got my wedding shoes off ebay (Manolos - eek!) and they were lovely (and quite a talking point on the day with many of the girls (and one or two boys!) wanting to see them!) ;)
Julie 67 - big (((hugs))) to you and I hope you get some answers from the hospital soon.

Today after work I really need to be getting a jump on with the house - Mount Washmore is bloomin huge at the moment, and there are loads of clean clothes to put away. Also I need to spray down the paths outside our house from where the local dog owners keep letting their pooches visit

DD finishes for half term tomorrow and I'm hoping to get a few days of with her, so the more I can get done before then the more fun things we can do!

    Have a lovely day everybody!

  • Good morning...freexzing here this morning...we had a sprinkling of snow over night.
We had a pretty productive day yesterday, got lots packed and took lots to the charity shop. The only problem we came across was trying to inform utilities, because its a new build the postcode isn't on Royal mails data base yet, so we've got to wait til tomorrow before we can make phonecalls.

Daughter has just gone to school and hubby will be taking son to nursery in a minute, then we are off to do a massive tip run and to carpet right to order carpets for living room and master bedroom.

this afternoon me and daughter are making biscuits for her to take to school as its her last day there tomorrow

    Morning all.

Martyn is getting a little better each day, he's still very weak but the physio gave him a zimmer frame yesterday so he's been able to get up and about, he walks a bit like Mrs Overall bless him. :D Good news too, he's now peeing! :T So everything seems to be getting back to normal, it's just going to take time. He's also off the strong painkillers so he's now like his usual self and we can have a conversation without him drifting off. Even better news, the doctors have said if everything continues to go well for the rest of the week he can come home on Monday! :j I still can't believe that it's only a week since he came off life support.

He'll still be weak when he comes home but if the doctors are happy with him medically he may as well rest at home rather than the hospital. He's looking forward to his own bed, hospital beds aren't really designed for 6ft1in well-built men. :o He can use his wheelchair at home if walking is too much, the only thing he wouldn't be able to manage is the stairs but luckily his stair-lift was installed while he was in hospital (we've been waiting since last summer).

Not much planned for today except a bit of general cleaning and pottering about. I won't be hospital visiting tomorrow (my friend who has been wonderful giving me a lift is at work) so I think I'll spend the day doing some batch cooking and prepping veg for the freezer to make things a bit easier when Martyn comes home.

Have a good day and hugs to all that need them. xx
