'Why are women too scared to poo?' blog discussion

Oh, and I have been diagnosed with IBS - had an exploratory camera up there! The pill they give you to take the night before is the most potent laxative I have ever come across!!! They even tell you not to go out after taking it! I spent most of the evening before on the loo - and I wasn't bothered then.
American style loos are good - no splash!
Great b(l)og (lol)- hope to get some sort of 'cure' from you lot out there!Ooh, I've gotta little star! What's that for then?!!0 -
What nonsense, next you'll be saying if you walk past a chip shop you're inhaling particles of potato into your lungs
I have heard - on some very good authority (but can't remember who) that it is indeed the very best idea to close the toilet seat before flushing as particles do permeate the atmosphere and in the bathroom can land on your toothbrush etc. The 'punchline' went something to the effect - "do you really want to clean your teeth with fecal bacteria?"
I can't recall where I heard this, but I definitely DID hear it, so it isn't really such nonsense. I'll Google it and get back to you.

This is just one website I found when Googling "why close the toilet lid when flushing"! Enjoy!Ooh, I've gotta little star! What's that for then?!!0 -

Totally agree with other posters that cubicle toilets closely packed together are partly to blame.
I've worked in modern offices where there were properly divided little rooms, no gaps at all - bliss.
When I see modern buildings with those ghastly cubicles, as if privacy was a bad thing and should be discouraged, I wonder what they were thinking. Definitely designed by a man, I reckon.0 -
Oh I'm well aware of that, it's just down to the splashing spreading germs that are in the loo water (I've always closed the loo lid since seeing something about it on TV a long while back). That's a long way from solid particles of poo floating around anywhere there is a smell as was being suggested
It is patently clear that drops of 'water' splash out if the seat is raised (and public toilets rarely have closing seats) Therefore there could easily be solid particles of poo - minute particles - but particles nonetheless, that have been merrily splashing about year in, year out. Maybe the smell is countless particles of poo on every available surface that never gets cleaned - like the ceiling!
However, I also believe that despite bacteria from a similar source being present on pub glasses and peanuts on the bar, the majority of us hardy folk are unaffected because of our strong immune systems.
Anyway, isn't this rather getting off the point?Ooh, I've gotta little star! What's that for then?!!0 -

i am not a female but know exactly what you mean about not being able to wait,i too suffer from chrons disease.
the way i see it everyone has got to use the toilet so if nature calls just go and dump there is nothing to be embarrased about.
holding in if your body is telling you to go is just going to cause problems, the stool that needs to be passed stays in rectum and then increases in size making it even more difficult to pass.0 -

i was given 2 sachets of picolax to take the morning and dinner time of the day before my camera did not know what to expect.
well half hour after first sachet the flood gates opened, was unable to be more than 30 seconds away from my throne for about 8-10 hours before i was finally empty.0 -

Unfortunately, I have the opposite, the verdict on long-haul flights for me is that they're always silent but deadly :cool2:You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0 -
Does anyone else find it rather touching that Martin is concerned about this?My favourite subliminal message is;0
