    2) In toilet blocks, why oh why oh why is there a need for such a big gap under both the door AND the side walls? Why, why, why, why? There really is no need. Even in some new buildings today, when the toilets are put in, there's the usual gap under the door and sides. Why does this happen? Do toilet install companies just put these partitions in by default when fitting out toilet blocks? Do they not ask anyone if these huge gaps are acceptable before fitting them?

My mate was in a public bog once, then looked down only to see a small child looking under the door at him :rotfl:

I hate this too. I always hang my handbag on the back of the door because I'm suspicious of someone reaching under and nabbing it! x

And its also wise to cough when you try and force your poo out in case you do a loud fart. (disguises the noise)

Am I weird that I don't break wind when I poo? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I do need a good hour in the morning to uhm... fit into my trousers :o:rotfl:

I recall a comedian following a lady into the loo with his microphone. Very funny. Everyone (except one) laughed so much that it hurt.

I've never done this but it could be amusing... Take a picture of your loo from the top corner of the bathroom. When a friend returns from the loo, have the picture up on your telly and they'll think it's a closed circuit camera.

Very sorry if this has already been posted as I've not read the entire thread, but just wanted to say - if this is an issue for you, put toilet paper down into the bowl first to prevent plopping sounds. Voila!

i was given 2 sachets of picolax to take the morning and dinner time of the day before my camera did not know what to expect.
well half hour after first sachet the flood gates opened, was unable to be more than 30 seconds away from my throne for about 8-10 hours before i was finally empty.

That's the stuff! I asked if I would be ok to go and collect my daughter from school, they advised against it! And they were right!

Mind you, the stuff works a treat and after I'd had the camera stuff, which I don't remember at all as they gave me a memory blocker which really worked, when I left they gave my an envelope which I didn't look at for a few days. It had a snap of my colon in it and it was absolutely spotless! I even went again at the hospital just before they gave me the anaesthetic! Who needs colonic irrigation when this stuff's about!
Ooh, I've gotta little star! What's that for then?!!

I really don't know why people have a problem with using public toilets. I have never really thought about it and don't feel concerned at all even if someone is using the toilet straight after me. I am a retired midwife and when I was practising midwifery a lot of women confessed to me that they worried about the baby's head pressing on the bowel wall when it was delivering and forcing out bowel contents. As a midwife I would just clean everything up, and make sure everything was nice and clean for baby's arrival! It did not embarass or concern me at all, and the women did not mention it!

    Interesting thread!
I wouldn't say 'too scared' to go, it's more a case of needing certain criteria to be met. For me these are: time, privacy, clean facilities with adequate handwashing and ventilation. Unfortunately my workplace does not provide facilities which meet my criteria so I could never never never go at work!

I do have a colleague who goes regularly at work every morning though, she stinks the place out and doesn't give a hoot
