Despite my good intentions, the sewing room is still not straight!! The chap came to wire in the new telephone point…..I started to tidy the sewing room and found some stuff that needed to be sorted for the drawer unit that will eventually live in the bootroom. Then the washing machine finished and I put the laundry on the airer in the second bedroom, I picked up the box for the kitchen cupboard and started to put the things away when I came across the stuff I had used to clean the cooker at Keepers Walk……so I tried it on the filthy electric hob, once I had started I had to carry on, but now we have an almost sparkling hob…I cleaned the solid plates as well and wiped the stainless steel with a tiny drop of olive oil….lovely.

After lunch we went off to B & Q its wrinklies day….the shop is massive much bigger than the depot we were used to. We got everything we wanted except the coal hod, I think we will have to try the ironmongers at Dunbar for that. We found Hobbycraft, I bought a ball of cheap wool for the crochet I am doing……..we then went on to Tesco in Haddington and bought some supplies to keep us going for next week.

Quiche and salad for supper, banana fritters for later with some cream for OH I will have natural yogurt on mine.

We came home to find a toilet sitting on the path by the back door. I told K yesterday that there was a crack in the pipe leading from the pan to the S bed, he came to look at it last night, and bingo we have a new loo, the plumber is coming tomorrow to put a new washer on the tap in the bathroom and fix the new loo. Then we have a week with nothing going on which should allow us to get everything more or less straight before DS2 comes next week.

After we have showered tomorrow I am going to fill the bath with hot water and bio washing powder and put the shelves from the oven in, they should clean, bio wash powder is great for shifting grease from oven shelves, then I have to spray the oven and clean it. If you burn a saucepan, put some bio soap powder in and some water, bring to the boil and then turn off and leave to stand overnight, in the morning the gunge will just swill off….

 Tomorrow I WILL get the sewing room sorted or bust!!!!Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0

candygirl my late Dad was a chemist, and a very old-fashioned remedy that worked on both of my two little girls over 40 yeasr ago was Lasser's Paste. You would probably have to go to a 'proper chemists' to either buy it or get the dispenser to make you some up. My Dad made me a small pot up and it worked where others had failed.
 Happy Birthday MMM
my Pal finished off my room and it looks fabulous and we put the curtains and nets back up and now I only have to wait for Argus to have my new computer desk and bookcase in stock and that will be the next thing done in there.I am so pleased and it looks great.
Hope everyone is wrapped up well tonight as its going to be another cold one, snowing on and off at the moment in North Kent
 Cheers JackieO xx0

            Hello folks.
Didn't get time to even look at the Daily yesterday, let alone post; and I've only quickly skimmed today's thread, so I hope everyone is OK. (Sandy, what've you been up to? Whatever you've done, I hope an op is not needed).
Anyway... before I forget to say, Happy Birthday MancMillyMolly.
I'm still struggling to keep the house up to scratch - I swear someone's tinkered with all our clocks and made them run fast.:D
Also, I spent a couple of hours yesterday and similar again today sorting out membership files. I'm currently looking after 3 regions; my own, and "babysitting" 2 others; and as it doesn't look like we're going to get more volunteers in the foreseeable future, I figured I'd have all the files in similar format, and all in lever arch files, for ease of use. (There were 3 slightly differing system, one of which was in a box file, so when I needed a folder from the end of the alphabet, I'd end up dropping everything on the floor). So that's now all done, thankfully.
Anyway, Mr LW will be in fairly soon (he's on Late shift today, but has phoned to say he's on his way) so I'd better head for the kitchen.
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need on today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Thanks LW, hope you are doing ok. x I am just a disaster waiting to happen. I had a seizure at the top of the stairs and managed to break my arm in the fall. Then had another yesterday and fell on it again!
Once it is mended I am going to buy myself a suit of armour and never take it off:rotfl:
Thanks to everyone else for their kind words. Hope you all had a good day.Sealed Pot Challenge Member NO. 853 :j0

I'm not making good progress. My excuse is that it's January and I don't do anything in January....except it isn't! Well, still on med and I suppose that mans I operate at less than par. Never mind. There's always tomorrow. I only have one lesson to cover in work tomorrow and it's not a long one.[SIZE=-1]"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Just for a smile - I've posted this deliberately on yesterday's thread so as not to make today's too long!
 POSITION:
Mum, Mummy, Mama, Ma, Dad, Daddy, Dada, Pa, Pop
 JOB DESCRIPTION:
Long term, team players needed, for challenging, permanent work in an often chaotic environment. Candidates must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be willing to work variable hours, which will include evenings and weekends and frequent 24 hour shifts on call. Some overnight travel required, including trips to primitive camping sites on rainy weekends and endless sports tournaments in far away cities!
Travel expenses not reimbursed. Extensive courier duties also required.
 RESPONSIBILITIES:
The rest of your life. Must be willing to be hated, at least temporarily, until someone needs £5. Must be willing to bite tongue repeatedly.
Also, must possess the physical stamina of a pack mule and be able to go from zero to 60 mph in three seconds flat in case, this time, the screams from the backyard are not someone just crying wolf.
Must be willing to face stimulating technical challenges, such as small gadget repair, mysteriously sluggish toilets and stuck zippers.
Must screen phone calls, maintain calendars and coordinate production of multiple homework projects.
Must have ability to plan and organize social gatherings for clients of all ages and mental outlooks. Must be a willing to be indispensable one minute, an embarrassment the next.
Must handle assembly and product safety testing of a half million cheap, plastic toys, and battery operated devices. Must always hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.
Must assume final, complete accountability for the quality of the end product.
Responsibilities also include floor maintenance and janitorial work throughout the facility.
POSSIBILITY FOR ADVANCEMENT & PROMOTION :
None. Your job is to remain in the same position for years, without complaining, constantly retraining and updating your skills, so that those in your charge can ultimately surpass you.
 PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
None required unfortunately. On-the-job training offered on a continually exhausting basis.
 WAGES AND COMPENSATION:
Get this! You pay them! Offering frequent raises and bonuses.
A balloon payment is due when they turn 18 because of the assumption that college will help them become financially independent.
When you die, you give them whatever is left.
The oddest thing about this reverse-salary scheme is that you actually enjoy it and wish you could only do more.
 BENEFITS:
 While no health or dental insurance, no pension, no tuition reimbursement, no paid holidays and no stock options are offered;
this job supplies limitless opportunities for personal growth, unconditional love, and free hugs and kisses for life if you play your cards right.
AND A FOOTNOTE... 'THERE IS NO RETIREMENT -- EVER!!!
