Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 10th Feb.It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

to you and your family, I also think it's harder watching someone you love in pain than going through it yourself. But have a good break together and congratulations to your daughter.

Had a lovely evening with my friends though we are all such lightweights they left around 2300. We ate nice and early though and played 'Boggle' and 'Mindtrap' and had a thoroughly good time.
The garden is definitely looking more springlike which is lovely. Crocus's and snowdrops and lots of greenery from the daffodils. I long to get out there and tidy up everything I failed to do in the autumn but it's been way too cold.
Breakfast will be porridge once my OH gets up, it's really nippy here this morning. For now I have a 'twinks' and a banana to keep me going. Lunch for my OH will be left over curry and rice from last night and for me, I think, a left over naan bread used a bit like a pitta and stuffed with cheese and some chilli oil from the chillies I preserved last year and put in the oven. Dinner will be cottage pie which I will make this afternoon with green beans.

Morning MSD and all who follow.
I haven't caught up on yesterday's thread, as by the time we got back and I had cooked tea, all I was good for was laying down on the sofa. It took quite a bit out of me, but the Chinese day was a roaring success One mum bought her Chinese flute and played that, which was absolutely beautiful. One mum bought her Chinese flute and played that, which was absolutely beautiful.
The children all had a fantastic day. The little ones had their faces painted as tigers by another mum, although my girls and their friends were too 'cool' for any of that so had 'I JLS' painted on their arms [not sure what that has to do with China JLS' painted on their arms [not sure what that has to do with China ] ]
Our food tasting session was great, as ever, and I now love lychees DD1 still stuck to foods she knows, but DD2 tried other things, so all in all I was very pleased. DD1 still stuck to foods she knows, but DD2 tried other things, so all in all I was very pleased.
I've had my hospital appointment through for an MRI, which is next week. I also have an appointment to go in as a day patient for a procedure next week, so a couple of days taken up there. I also need to up my medication again today, which I've done the last two weeks, but I'm on the maximum then. Hopefully, the pain will finally be under control, as, at the moment, the majority of it is, until I do too much [like yesterday]. I need to learn to pace things, but it isn't always easy.
Anyway, back to today. My parents are coming over later to bring stuff for DDs birthday. They have bought some party foods for me, so that saves a shop visit, but I will still need to get stuff as it will be a long weekend, with all her friends here.
Not much OS going on, as I need to rebuild energy levels today, however, I have taken some beef out of freezer and want to do something different with it tonight, so will be looking through the recipes for ideas
As usual, wm and bm are on the go, but other than that, I will be relaxing

            Morning peeps
day off today - can`t you tell - this is my lie in
Well i got off to a flying start, i`ve hung the washing on the airer upstairs and put another load on, the dishwasher has been emptied and everything put away, the breadmaker has been emptied and there is a lovely fresh loaf cooling on the worktop and the house smells lovely. I`ve also put the water on for an hour as the electricity is still on cheap rate and we should use it today.
I`ve also been around the house and collected everything up that needs charging and turned them all on so i`m feeling pleased that my day has started in a very money saving way.
I forgot to put the slow cooker on last night, i`ve just noticed that there are bits and bobs in the fridge that shouldn`t be there so i`ll do this tonight. I was only making dog food and we already have some in the freezer so no great loss. Think that i`ll fill the crock up and stand it on the top shelf in the fridge so that i keep reminding myself through the day.
Painting planned for today and not too much else. Its still dark outside and very cold but its also stayed dry which is a nice change, i also need to make a checklist for part of my kitchen delivery which arrives tomorrow :j
Sandy - ((((HUGS)))) good luck at the hospital and i hope tat your arm is ok and not too painful.
Ladyshopper = MMM lemon drizzle cake is one of my faves, i shall have to make one very soon
Zippychick - How is the decorating going? Have you managed to get your lovely new curtains hung yet?
I may as well go clean the kitchen whilst i`m still feeling wide awake and i fancy another cuppa.
Have a good day everyone. Keep warm.

            Good morning
Getting going nicely here, the WM is on it's 2nd load, the TD on it's 1st. Dishwasher all unloaded last night which saves me a job in the mornings.
Plans for today are to do the Flylady list, some ironing and then hopefully have an easier day as the last two have been manic.
I placed my first online shopping order with Asda last night for delivery tomorrow morning :T Thought it'd save me some time once I'm on this course and then working. Which board has the discount or delivery codes? I couldn't remember last night
Have a good day all & big hugs for everyone who needs one 0 0

            Morning all,
Brrrrr freezing cold here, I took the dog over the fields yesterday and nearly frooze, my ears were soooo cold I had to wrap my scarf round my head , it started to snow as we got home, but it has not settled, think we are due more today. , it started to snow as we got home, but it has not settled, think we are due more today.
Off to work today, so a quick swish and swipe round this morning, had a lovely dinner yesterday of roasted neck of lamb with wedges and mushrooms cooked in the oven in oil and balsamic vinegar with brocoli, it was delish, and something I would do again.
I also spent most of the day cleaning the Aga , it was filthy, every time I opened it the door the smoke alarm went off, the muck I got off was amazing, I only done the big oven the smaller one and grill will have to wait till next week as I run out of cleaner, this was a job for the strong one. I also deep cleaned the top of it, looks a lot better now. , it was filthy, every time I opened it the door the smoke alarm went off, the muck I got off was amazing, I only done the big oven the smaller one and grill will have to wait till next week as I run out of cleaner, this was a job for the strong one. Washing is on the airer, which I will put away tonight and no doubt put another wash on.

            Morning All
Struggled to get out of bed this morning and had to take DS1 to work for 7am... I soooo could have stayed in bed.
Cooked gammon in the SC yesterday, put in some stock, celery, canrrots and lentils and blended it for soup when I took the gammon out last night. Dinner will be soup and maybe omlettes (with gammon...)for the adults/teens too.
Kitchen is all tidy (courtesy of dS1 last night :T) living room is abysmal but really CBA to dig it out yesterday! and now it will have to be just 'straightened up' until the weekend as I'm back to work today.
 Have a good day

            Morning all
Love and hugs to those who are sad or poorly.
Light and very cold with a sprinkling of snow here this morning. We didn't get the snowfall we had been expecting just a light sprinkling but the wind is absolutely bitter, brrr!! It's also very flat here so the wind whips across the fields.
Last night's tea was lovely, pork chops, mash, carrots, brussels, green beans and peas with leftover yorkshires and gravy, those that had room had a slice of choc cake for dessert and I had yogurt. Forgot to get the lamb out of the freezer last night but have got it out now so should be defrosted in time.
DS1's cough and sore throat sound better this morning. I only have half a day at work today but I'm on a training course and then going home once course is finished, then on holiday until the 22nd Feb yippee....but have lots of jobs to do whilst I'm off, booooo.......
Have been really good diet wise this week but don't feel like I've lost anything so will have to wait and see, possibly get to the scales tomorrow or Friday.
Had a statement come yesterday from my catalogue which had a nil balance, I honestly can't remember when I had a nil balance - it is quite a while, I'm sure that's been added by all you good people on here with the OS tips etc - so many thanks, need to sort out the other debts now!
Need to get off now and get ready for work.
 Have a good day everyone.
Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

CRANKY - well done on going back to work
RachelW - Sorry to hear about your mother in law. Hope she makes a speedy recovery
Sandy, you poor thing. I hope you haven't done anything too bad to your arm. Good luck at the hospital. Will be thinking of you
I try not to google anything as it plays on my mind - and could turn me into a hypochondriac as so many things sound similar to my aches and pains as so many things sound similar to my aches and pains
PP, well done to your DD on getting her placement.
Your poor DH. One never knows what to say at a time like this, but at least he has your support. (((HUGS)))
Sorry to hear you also have to go into hospital. I can understand you not wanting to leave your OH. What about the sugeestion of his mum coming to stay so you can get your strength back and have the tests?
 Enjoy your break this week
Haribo, hope your back is ok.
