EA, I had no leakage with any of them! I mamanged to squeeze 'moisture' out of one in the bath with Amber after a conversation on the preggy thread, but it was a serius squuueeeezzzzing session.
Your body doesn't make milk till a huge hormone change after the placenta has left your body. You have colostrum, or the ability to make colostrum right now, but it's only after the birth that most peoples bodies get the correct feedback to make it in any great quantity.0 -
Not sure if this is the right place to put this but i figured its money saving and breastfeeding related so why not lol. Was in Tesco earlier and noticed they have the Tommee Tippee disposable breast pads at £2.48 per box so half price. Just thought if anyone uses them theyre quite a bit cheaper at the min

You have to use your thumb and first finger in a C shape, grab at the outside edge of the aerola and sort of pinch-push to express it, not just pinch cos that will hurt ya n00b!
:rotfl:
On the topic of hurting, if using an electric pump, turn it off before pulling boob out, or else the birth will just seem like a dianty sneeze!0 -
EA - I never leaked in pregnancy (and still don't now!) but found I could get a reasonable amount of colostrum if I tried to. It doesn't mean anything, babe, I'm sure you will be just fine when Lily is born!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

EA - if breastfeeding is important to you, finding out as much as you can while pregnant is a great idea.
This is an amazing book:

And this section on Kellymom would be great to read before baby arrives:

Ok I have another silly question, I am hoping to breast feed I am 36+2, and I currently leak liquid (sometimes clear and sometimes milky looking) not all the time, but often enough that I have to use breast pads (currently find ASDA ones are comfy, I do have Boots ones as well)
So my silly question is even though I leak now does that mean I will necessarily continue to leak?
What I mean is has anyone leaked before baby is born and then not leaked after baby born?

Been there. And also best to switch the pump on when it's on the lowest setting then turn it up- less of a shock that way!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

EA - I agree with Feelie, if it's important to you read anything and everything you can, find out where your local support groups are and visit them before you are due xx0
