Thanks pukka deffo gna pop down to the library tomorrow see if i can get that book, (would have bought it seen as ive saved a couple of quid, but dont fancy going into town).
Anybody got any idea how long the clearing of the lucgs take , this coughing and wheezing is so painful..I just want all the symptoms to stop and never want to think of having a smoke again.
It really shouldn't take too long for your lungs to clear, but don't assume it's the stopping smoking that is causing the coughing if it persists go to the doctor you may have an infection.
If you have any questions or need a bit of advice pm me i have the book here xxxI don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -
lol, luckily you never seen me then (not a drinker) and you never will now!!!!:j
You no longer need to stand outside in the cold and rain, filling your lungs with poison, depriving yourself of money.
They are the drug addicts that spend many of their waking hours in the throes of drug withdrawl desperate for a 'fix'!!!!!!
You on the other hand will never have to sit in a restaurant wishing the mealo was over so you could go outside and smoke.
You will never have to worry about how you smell (unless you don't wash;)).
You have the rest of your life as a NON-SMOKER to look forward to feel happy about that and not sad that you will never have to fill you lungs with burning smoke again!!!!I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -
I used to sell Allen Carr books on ebay and the feedback I got was that it was an excellent book. People were saying they had tried lots of other things, but Allen Carr really worked. Incidentally the nicotine can cross the placenta.
If what my customers said was anything to go by I would try the book/books.
You have done 3 days now - keep it up.0 -

Thats exactly what I did and I read it and it is amazing.
I did also attend a no smoking clinic they held at work where they tested your carbon monoxide and gave you patches of inhalors etc.
But I told them I was ttc, so I was only on patches for 3 weeks then I got my BFP and they took me off patches and I went cold turkey
I havent touched a cigarette since
But I have to admit I am 37 weeks now and for some strange reason I really want one, I wont have one cos I swore to myself I wouldnt whilst pregnant (each to their own for people who do) but I am concerned about if I start again once bean is born.Debt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

Well done simmy keep in mind how good it is to be a non-smoker, be smug when you see smokers.
Remember they are the ones killing themselves and crippling themselves financially, there is NO pleasure in smoking it is just an ADDICTION!!!!
You are no longer a drug addict you have been set free!!!!I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -
Quite often, the damage caused to a child in the womb of a smoker is a heart defect.
I can promise you that if you, as I once had to, saw your beloved child being stretchered off for what was then life threatening hole in the heart surgery, you wouldn't now be sat at a keyboard wishing you could just have a ciggy!
Along with many others on this thread, I can't say strongly enough that Allen Carr is your saviour, if you'll allow him to be.0 -

Well done Simmy, your baby will thank you for it, and your lungs will be a bit clearer by now so your breathing will give you more oxygen when you're in labour and needing all the air you can get!:T
I didn't stop till my DD was one year old,but she is the thing that kept me stopped. The thought of her taking up smoking because she saw it as something 'normal' that people did has kept me off the cigs for over 10 yeard now, I smoked for 18 years before that.
Put the money you're not spending into a jar for the first year, and use it to do something wonderful. The years after that, the money is just part of the household budget, but you should have conquered the cravings by then.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
