You were not right to worry.
As suggested your manager acted completely professionally and sympathetically and did everything he could to help and make you feel comfortable.

Yet you were on here less than 24 hours ago suggesting he couldnt do this because he was male, religous, new , whatever.
  • People worry! And most of the time it is all worry for nothing. But she didn't want to discuss the ins and outs (literally) of her medical issues with a guy. Just like when a man has some kind of penis issue he is asked if he would prefer a male doctor...and a woman with thrush is asked if she would prefer a female doctor. It works both ways. Thats the way it is. Everyone's entitled to a bit of dignity.

In the end your male manager responded in a nice way, you worried for nothing really, but we all do that...don't we?
Trying to spread calmness, understanding and optimism on MSE :)

Glad it went well, sounds like you've got a decent new boss as well.
