well my flourescent straws, cat repellant spray, water bottles, mirror and nails in the fence seem to have done the job! The cats have not been pooing in my garden for the last few days! :D Although yesterday i did hear two neighbours moaning about cats pooing in their gardens!! I told them what i have done, hopefully soon all the gardens will be cat proof and the little b**gers will go home to do it! :rotfl:

Where did youbuy the flouresent straws? How do you use mirror? The cats have been off my lawn for a couple of weeks. I have got CD, tin of sweets which show reflection, glass bottles filled with water, bamboo sticks on the lawn and foil paper over the plants here and there. I do not know which tricks have worked. I guess the foil paper although looks a mess must frighten the cats at night as it moves with the wind and makes a little noise. My lawn does look very weird, my husband has asked me what I have done, it does not look pretty. With Spring coming, I will need to tidy it up & removed some of the stuffs so I was thinking may be the fluoresent straws might work. I have yet to think of a way of putting cd, foil paper or mirror neatly in the flower bed. Will be glad for some suggestions!! Last resort will use moth balls. Thanks

catwatch. It has absolutely done the trick. Some pesky moggie was pooing in my little gravel patch, 12 poos when I noticed. Jeyes fluid worked fairly well, topped with lots of mothballs but catwatch is is far and away the best. I have had cheap electronic deterrents previously but I got this with the mains cable, that slips easily through a window. You can see it work and hear it click on and off together with the red light

It has a range of 1350 sq feet and I haven`t seen ANY cat in front of my study window, while I am working. I used to see lots. Lol, they are probably too scared to come out now. It is pricey but I HATE cat poo and I am getting another to protect my pots of soil on my back patio

It was a party box of 100 straws, probably from the poundshop or wilko's - I've had them so long I can't remember! My dd2 isn't happy though, she keeps trying to pinch them out of the bed!

The mirror is just an old big one we had in the loft, i lean it against the fence which is behind the raised bed. As you say, not pretty really but if it keeps them out, I don't care! :rotfl:

bad advice to put carpet gripper down, the cat owners could sue you for vet fees if the cat is hurt, and inform the rspca. And it's cruel. I have 2 cats and i give my neighbors the wilkonsons cat repellent every spring. I don't use it, my cats, i'd rather they go in my garden than my neighbours. It works but you have to keep putting it on. Eventually the cats will forget to go in your garden and go somewhere else. Also if you catch them don't be affraid to shout at them and throw something. But make sure you miss them. They will get the idea that you don't love them.

No they can not. You do not owe a duty of care to cats. If it was a child or even a burglar they "might" have a case.
