Freelander failed MOT but now costing almost 100% more than quoted, where do I stand?

OK, here goes.
Land Rovers are expensive cars to maintain, but a driveshaft for a Freelander is about £100. It should take a couple of hours to fit (guessing £80 an hour labour), so we are looking at £260 - £300 for this job, then it needs tracking.
Before I get into any arguments with anyone, I would want to know exactly what the total cost breakdown was, because £570 seems a bit steep to me.
I would definitely contest it, and not simply accept it and walk away.
Well what do you know, someone else that can think for himself. Welcome andy, I have been having some fun making the children here make fools of themselves, not difficult really, bit too easy and becoming a bit boring.
Not a very bright bunch, eschaton was passed over when brains were being passed out. Think some of the others just support him to make him feel better, poor sod.0 -

Unfortunately the piece of skirt Jock is chasing is no longer interested since I believe she has not posted on the thread since the opening one. <shrugs> So I wouldn't waste your time tbh. :rotfl:0 -

It only took a minute to find that one and even YOU have to admit, Witless Jock - it was pure comedy gold! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Takoda, you after eschatons crown for village idiot?
Wondered about the claim it took you a minute to find the thread and thought nah, this is one sad individual with such a sad, empty life that they spend time looking old posts up to try and get some sick pleasure. So I thought I would play you at your own game and check out some the threads you have started. Never have I seen so many pointless threads of utter !!!!!!!!, without any point.
started a thread about ordering home groceries, captivating, hope you put your frozen pizza away before rushing to the forum?
started a thread about joining the RAC, exhilarating, did you run home quickly to post that one?
started a thread about DVDs, oh dear, try getting out more!
started a thread about re heating salmon pie, I ask you, just get one of your frozen pizzas out!
News Flash for Takoda, people are not interested in your drivel, are you really that sad you have to post about your shopping? What do you want a Blue Peter Badge?
Top Tip No1; try the Samaritans, they may be able to help!:D
Top Tip No2; stop spending so much time looking in the mirror and you won’t see dumb people anymore.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I bet you have never had one post with any substance?
Anyway I have considered your application and can confirm you have taken eschaton's crown, sorry eschaton.
It's OFFICIAL Takoda is the new village IDIOT!:j:j:j
CONGRATULATIONS:beer:
Hello Clueless Jock! <waves>

OK this is not one of my best efforts but I'm rushing to get it done before Casualty starts. Yes I know, I know but I've watched it since the beginning.
Anyway here's my Clueless Jock limerick. It doesn't exactly scan perfectly but for a rush job I'm quite proud of it.
An old Scottish chap called Clueless Jock.
Ran up a big hotel bill playing with his !!!!. (Insert name of male chicken)
Then he promptly ran away,
And completely ‘forgot’ to pay
But when his bill came he got a big shock!0 -
