Don't stress too much. The shops will be open after a couple of days. I bet you all eat a lot of turkey and chocolate anyway, and won't want pasta. The cat litter might be a problem though.0

Its amazing how we stress about shops being shut for one day but 'back in the day' remember when nothing used to open on a Sunday. A few shops will be open Boxing Day I bet for a short while.
I bet when I go shopping tomorrow for fruit and veg there wont be much choice.

In London there are plenty of shops open on Christmas day too!Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0

I bet. I was horrified last year when we went for a New years day walk and shops in our village were open. Surely everyone deserves christmas day and new years day off? It amazes me the consumerism that is shown.0

No, most of them aren't run by Christians so they don't see it as their holiday time! I don't know if they get a holiday at another time though...Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0

Well we popped to sainsburys and the cat litter was gone!! The man stacking shelves said there was no more, but then hubby caught another man who brought out about a stray 10 bags, we took 4
so the litter tray is nice and full now (we have a pond base full of litter for the cats) so should last a few weeks. Well we spent £37.85, and I have just realised I need something else for my dad grrrrr this is our most expensive shops this month (i guess expected to be fair). I am off now til new year and I just wanted to avoid shops so I didn't get all hustled and bustled
.
Wel I just can't stop putting things in my trolley, I bought my daughter a pink hoodie with a cat on it (she seems to of grown a bit), I bought some racing reindeer crackers...despite already having racing sprout crackers haha but of course I will keep the racers for next year and make my own cracker so it is MS in the long run, haha don't hold me to that. Got my nan some baileys, I don't drink or hubby so a bit clueless about the price of these things... We did a food plan so we now have all dinners covered pretty much til ny weekend we have a few dinners covered by going out too
. This just reminded to get my turkey portion thing out of the freezer. I'm a bit silly but I just don't like meat that looks like carcasses so we have one of these portions with stuffing in it haha bit rubbish really as all the veg is frozen and the only thing hubby wanted was a parsnip and they'd all gone- apparently theres a shortage coz they're all frozen in the ground....as are my leeks (I have some half leeks stuck in the frozen soil where they've snapped). I have some very small brussels, I thought they'd make xmas dinner...will they grow anymore? I think the chickens might get them!
Hubby is at work til lunchtime and I rarely get to be home alone, I'm going to go out and clean out the birds and tidy up the garden hopefully before my daughter wakes up. I noticed my neighbours dogs have chewed through our fence... the neighbours aren't happy with us as I've mentioned before because we have planning permission for an extension, a few months ago their dog broke our fence and they did say about replacing it and I said no as a kind of good will gesture (and we fixed it) to try and help relations, but since we started they won't even make eye contact with us so its a lost cause really but their dog has now snapped the wood off (rather than just split it) and this time they haven't come and said anything so hopefully we can put another bit of wood over it today as a nose would easily get through so I'm sure it would start working on getting its head through.... Their dog sounds like it charges at the fence and bites it, but I have two large dogs and the neighbours have two staffs and I'm sure if their paths were to cross in our garden my dogs wouldn't stand for it so definately need to prevent any further conflict here. I have also acquired a small stray dog at the mo, I did really want to keep it, it has settled in ok but it is not that well as its throwing up quite alot, its on some medication so we will have to see, I always end up taking in these homeless animals but I've always managed to keep to healthy ones and I'm not sure I have the time to deal with this one if it goes on too long, wel see...
I also agree its nice for the shops to be shut, one year I worked xmas and boxing day and now I book it off every year in january
I tried to win a christmas present of my choice this morning on the radio- I even set my alarm for 6am (haha) but alas no joy, so I will see if 'Phil and Holly' want to throw some festive cheer my way!!
Merry christmas to you all, what a lovely message Pammy I agree the diary support here is fantastic. Hopefully I'll get some time to do some diary catch up over the holiday I haven't done much lately... Have a lovely xmas everyone xxMortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!

Have a great xmas!
I was gonna second others opinions that you will probably survive food wise on turkey, leftovers and chocolates! (thats my plan anyway!) but sounds like you have the shopping all sorted now
so sit back and relax and enjoy0 -
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:at the crackers.
I am sure chickens will eat everything you give them!! Although we were told not to feed them processed or cooked food? We used to give them leftover Indian and everything :eek:Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0
