And as a handy household hint:

Don't get stroppy teenagers to put shopping away when there is a bag of frozen prawns involved...... as said prawns may get left in the 'empty' carrier bag which is then hung up in the cupboard......... the day before a 2 week holiday 7.gifforums.moneysavingexpert.com7.gif

My £55 was in my account and has gone to the mortgage so now £77800. The 10p has been borrowed from my daughter as her birthday money payment was bounced (it always does it for some reason) so I have amended this months direct debit to take it. So in theory I owe her £3 now but I will be paid before the direct debit comes out- been hard having money in my account actually! Though of course she can't tell me off just yet :)

Well I can't forsee anymore payments this month...unless of course I do start looking down the sofa...good idea ;)

Prawns -yikes!!! I had milk in the car once, I could never get over it, had to sell the car in the end as it was always there in the background...note to self- put own shopping away :) The smell just gets absorbed to leak out for a life time, that must of been awful....

OOOh I had to just check my bank account as u do and my £10 from global opinions that I forgot was coming is here! Before I knew it, it had come off the mortgage (77790) hehe so I have beaten this months target. Hubby has done me a fantastic spread sheet and when I pay a bit extra it changes all the balances (I don't do spread sheets so that makes me excited!).

I am excited about the weekend...I'm tempted to put the christmas tree up! Will see, have a sick chicken in my dining room at the mo but don't think she will be going out with the other girls anytime soon so I will have to decorate around her!

Will up date with this weeks shopping tonight/ tomorrow hopefully can be a good one ;)

Today is payday-eve. We should be paid by direct debit this month, the last couple of months we have got a late cheque and I have incurred charges. These totalled £2.30 and although work will reimburse us I feel too embaressed to ask so I will let it go now!

Hubby has been having an extra tax deduction so this amended has allowed us a bit extra this month (we are still hoping for a cheque at some point) and I have some over time coming so we are getting a bit extra this month. Hubbys work have capped his overtime which is a bit annoying especially as there is lots of work to be done and there seems no reason for it, anyhow the tax code changed has meant that this will not affect incomings.

I am excited that we will be a third of the way through the challenge. Next year will see us to the 60's in feb and the 50's in may which is crazy exciting but I still find it tough at times. I find it frustrating as to pay so much off a month requires a rather extreme way of living. I really want to have another baby now and to put up our extension but you can't do everything. I know if we just wait another 2 years we can get this shifted it is worth it, but quality of life is rather impaired. Secondly my parents have decided that from december 2012 they no longer want my daughter full time, I completely respect and understand this. My dad is retired and my mum wants to give up work. They have her from about 8am to 6:30pm monday to friday. Our plan had been once the mortgage was cleared to get the extension up and try for baby 2, this will mess up the plan a bit as if I give up before getting pregnant I won't get any maternity pay- for what its worth in all honesty, but it is something... Not sure whether my parents might consider extending this for a few more months, we shall have to see, at the mo will keep with the plan as really to plan so far ahead is almost impossible.

On the up my nan and grandad are always rather generous and xmas and our wedding anniversary presents have come already (not sure why) and so we have £400 cash. We have decided that if the apple sale is good tomorrow we will buy a new laptop. This will allow me to sell my old mac which is worth in the region of £200- hopefully on a free listing day. This will allow my husband to finish his chartering qualification so I am kidding myself that it will pay for itself :) The rest can go on the credit card and come 2011 we will be battling that down until the next stage of building work starts (on a new interest free credit card).

I ordered a printer for my parents which is now out of stock so I have to start doing shopping again grrrrr.

Anyway hopefully will be paid tomorrow and may be able to update to a very close to the 75k mark balance :)

    Hi,
I've just read all through your posts and wanted to say Wow, well done for the huge payments you have paid off your mortgage.
You have paid off nearly the whole amount of my mortgage so far in just a couple of years which is fantastic. Think its going to take me a bit longer, I daren't put the amount of months on my diary :D suffice it to say, its over the 300 mark at the mo. Now I'm depressed. :(

If you ever want to op elsewhere, give me a shout...........:rotfl:

Can't wait to read when you achieve your target. :T

Ah thanks Ally :) Oh no I didn't want to make you depressed :(
So different though when you have two salaries, when I was on maternity leave we didn't have much money, I feel like I've sold my little girls childhood in a way being a part time mum... Just feel I have to take advantage of the opportunity!
Looking forward to seeing the updates of your diary :)

Sorry about the childcare arrangements, will she be in school by then?
