Politics behind it all by the look of things..

We were sold our Toyota from a Toyota dealership late in January.
Am reading reports in the Times that Toyota knew of this problem last Summer.
Would we have been mis-sold a defective product? If so, would there be potential to claim for this?
Yes of course. How much would you like?
(Just don't forget to say you are still suffering bed-wetting nightmares)0 -
The accelerator pedal is made by CTS Corp - an Indianna, USA based company.
A Toyota Verso is still on the short list of possible cars for the Mrs. next time around, we'll stay out the way a few months until this accelerator pedal recall has been sorted. Dealers might be a bit busy for a while.0 -

Go out and drive your car with your family, include a toddler/baby or two for maximum effect, and plough the right pedal to the carpet. Keep it in position and ensure you get up to speed, go past some speed cameras for added effect, do some light left foot braking for 5 minutes or so to heat the brakes up then really slam on them, remembering to keep the right pedal fully applied. Now steer into a stationary object and pray that Toyota's other safety features such as airbags etc help you and your family survive. You can then claim off them and may get deals with magazines etc to sell your story. If so, would there be potential to claim for this?0 -
Surely the OP is winding us all up?
I must say if I was in the market Toyota has just moved up the league tables of one for the shortlist. I think they have handled this pretty well in the face of a severe press bashing coupled with dumb consumers I saw on the news tonight which I guess is being repeated in the US.
If you want to see how other companies have handled such situations in the past look no further than the exploding Ford Pinto

So OP why not go and buy a Ford I'll make an offer on your Toyota which you now don't want!0 -
I own a Focus, but am thinking of claiming from Toyota ..........
Phone has not stopped and my ear hurts, surely I should get something for that? And the stress too....Genie

Where there's a blame there's a claim Jeannie!0

Reckon I'll join the bandwagon then..... I've had so much hassle over this, spent ages on the phone to panicking customers - and we are not a dealership!!! Media has a lot to answer for - I've been praying for a large helping of snow or another 'so called epidemic' of swine flu to take over the main news and front pages of the papers!Where there's a blame there's a claim Jeannie!
Its ridiculous.Genie
