I've had the same reply via Twitter. Good to know that they're working on the problem.0 -
Finally finished Tom Brown's Schooldays! Woo! Took too long for my liking. It was okay, but it's one of those books that uses too many words to describe what's going on.
So I'm now reading two books. On the Kindle app we have Fairytales that every child should know, that was a free download. Not sure if it's free now though.
My night time reading is Britain from Above, which is one of those books from a BBC series. So lovely pictures and not much words.0 -
Finished larger than life by Adele parks yesterday, enjoyed it but to wasn't a keeper so it's on th epile to give my mum.
Started the world according to Joan Collins now, so far it's an enjoyable easy read, I like a lot of the opinions expressed by her and I'm only a few pages in!SPC~12 ot 124

I was naughty yesterday and bought two books - a Marian Keyes and a Patricia Cornwell. They were only 20p each in a library sale and are in perfect condition so I'm pretty chuffed and couldn't possibly resist! I very rarely pick up second-hand finds as the charity shops in my town sell books for £2.50 min
Still on the Rebus - it's slow-going but hoping to read a lot this weekend.MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
Just found this challenge today, thanks to mrs-moneypenny on another challenge:T. Looks exactly what I need so I'll look forward to reading through the whole thread when I get a bit more time.
I've got several hundred(really!) books cluttering up my home and my life:o. The majority of them have been acquired in 'job lots' of dozens at a time bought for a few pence per book from tatty auctions, end of the day sell-offs at car boot sales, a closing down and getting rid in a hurry sale from a secondhand bookstall which just wanted them taking away really. Plus there are lots that I actually bought at full price( or rather 3 for 2 type of bargain deals) back in the day when I had money to spend:eek:
I'm selling as many as I can on Amazon and at carboot sales but I keep coming across really interesting titles/authors previously unknown to me in some of the boxes that I'm rooting through and hope to read them before I sell/give to charity. I love reading, which is just as well, all things considered:rotfl:.
I have a few books which I hold on to to re-read but mainly once I've finished a book I like to let someone else enjoy it. I sometimes give up on a book/author (as mostly these books were not exactly individually chosen) but I have now developed quite an eclectic taste. I've recently 'discovered biographies/autobiographies. What treats I've missed all these years:(
Have read a few Peter Robinson's Chief Inspector Banks books a long time ago and have just unearthed 'All The Colours Of Darkness' from a big boxful. It's a hardback(unusually) and looks unread:j so I'll enjoy getting stuck into this one tonight. I don't watch much telly and haven't seen any of the Banks programmes so the story will be unknown to me.0 -
Welcome carbootcrazy, Glad you decided to join us.
I used to keep everything after I'd read it but I've now come to the conclusion that there are just so many books out there so once I've read I pretty much now pass them on. The exceptions to that rule are Mitch albom, Philippa Gregory and Markus kuzak (the book thief) I have a little stash of those that are reads but if I ever run out of books (:rotfl::eek: in equal measure) I would be happy to read those again.SPC~12 ot 124
