Mr Sunday hasn't heard about his GNR place yet either. The ballot only closed at noon yesterday though, with results to be emailed w/c 8/2, so there's plenty of time yet.

I am so excited about it - keep telling Mr S I am going to beat him :rotfl: although there's absolutely no chance of that as last time we went for a run 'together', he did 10k in not much more than the time it took me to do 5k! :o

I find I plan my meals around my SC now - I'm often up for a couple of hours in the night with DH so normally have a nap around 3pm (when I should be getting dinner ready) so to know I can have something ready for when DD's get in is great.

    I'm on my 3rd SC now - I polish it lovingly. :D

*is tempted by the thought of a slow cooker* Can you leave it on when you go out all day??

I do, I chuck everything in in the morning (or nip home at lunchtime) Then it bubbles away happily all day (with cats guarding it of course) and then when you come in after work the house smells AMAZING!!!!

You can buy cheaper cuts of meat such as brisket and the slow cooker makes it so tender it's like eating best steak:T

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

You're only in competition with yourself in the GNR, There are so many runners, hundreds will whizz past you, you've got to just ignore them all and set your own pace.

Lately I've been buying double of the M&S casserole for £5 deals, you choose a meat, veg pack and a sauce, wang it all in the slow cooker and leave it....GORGEOUS!!!!

...and plenty left to freeze in portions :T

  • Cheers Pooky and everyone else, it's something I might invest it for when the OH is home. It will be one less chore for him to do, which he'll love.
