Too late now but invest in a couple of 99p mesh laundry bags from Wilkos - I always put lingerie in them if I am putting it in the machine.
Bookie, not a nice situation for you, and must feel dreadful. From the outside it looks simple, sell the house, rent somewhere nice, get on with a nice debt-free life, but I know it's not that simple from the inside, when there are memories/emotions/history tied up in your home. popping in for 30 seconds rest. Horribly busy morning and am just shovelling a sandwich down my mouth before jumping in the car to go to a course for the afternoon. Then whizz back and get changed for teaching.
