Damn. I want a Fisher & Donaldson's coffee tower now. A skirlie pie would be good too.

PS: Chardonnay, where is the Roo's Leap in Dunfermline exactly? Someone I know tried to find it and failed.

Roo's Leap closed in Feb due to the redevelopment of the town centre.
It was in the East Port(Prev The Town House)

I have passed this place often and its always busy (usually a good sign I know) but have never spoken to someone who has been. we've often spoken about getting a reservation, I take it you need one since its so small and busy? will give it a go, thank you.

for those roo's leap fans there is now a roo's leap in dunfermline.

eastern buffet(chinese) & nandos now at the retail park

buffet king in dunfermline is fab (took over the noodle bar)

I haven't tried the Eastern Buffet at the retail park yet, but the one on the New Row in the town centre is my fave. All you can eat lunch for £5.50 and kids under 5 eat free.
    Started comping 29/10/2010

WINS: 29/10 - bag of Skittles :T, Max Factor make up :j

Restarted Comping June 2011 - June wins: Cushelle Koala, Starbucks book and £5 card
  • The Wok N Spice at Bankhead Business Park in Glenrothes. It's a really good Chinese Buffet Restaurant and claims to be Fife and Taysides largest licencsed buffet restaurant . It's so good that I recommend it everytime theres somebdoys birthday :p
  • I absolutely LOVE The Rama in Dundee....seriously delicious Thai food, excellent service and has great ambience.

The Trades bar do great bar lunches too, went last week and thoroughly enjoyed it!

For something more cheap n cheerful Lloyds food is good and reasonably priced, and The Counting house is okay as well
  • For Bar meals you cant beat The Horseshoe on Commercial Street (recently refurbed and changed their menu) for a good choice range and decent prices, they bring bread etc for free which is a nice touch considering its just a pub meal! The Phoenix at the bottom of Perth Rd/Nethergate is superb too, but difficult to get a seat at lunchtimes.

Restaurant wise The Italian in Commercial Street and Dolls House in St Andrews are untouchable for me if a little pricey.

Although I swear by Papa Joes in Whitehall Crescent and Rancho Panchos in Commercial Street for a more relaxing (and less harsh on the wallet) experience.

Rama is nice but their portions are poor, we had to order about 3 starters and 4 mains between two people!.. granted im a big eater though!

Braes on Perth Rd, Decent enough pub grub and good for the football.

Oh and the wee cafe at the botanic gardens does good home baking and reasonably priced lunches too!

For Sunday lunches the Birkhill Inn at the back of Camperdown Park does great sunday roasts with generous portions but its definately a place you need to book they're not keen on walk ins I think as we've always been told they're "Fully booked"

My god I didnt realise I went out for lunch so much!?!?!

  • great info guys - please post a phone number too if you have one to make booking easier.....
