Thanks Highland - a big thumbs up for the Old Brew House in Arbroath. :A
A lovely lunch, good sized portions, and the Viennese coffee was delicious too - couldn't have asked for more, staff lovely, the weather was great, so we sat outside after we had our lunch (was a bit blowy when we went in).
Will definitely be back.0 -
:T Great so glad you enjoyed it & thank's for letting me know. Been wondering what excuse we could use to go to the Kittiwake the food is well tasty.0

Will definitely have to try the Kittiwake out now - used to go there when it was the Cambustay a good few years back, and it was very good then. Kept meaning to go back since it changed over, and never done it yet - and that's been for years, despite the fact passed it daily going to work!
Am sure you will find a good excuse to make a trip there - school's are back, well worth a celebration (unless you're a teacher!), we're still getting good weather here (that'll be the kiss of death for sure now!). Or just for the heck of it!0 -
The Kookaburra (Australian, much more so than Roo's Leap), just outside Forfar is very good (just past the Golf Club on the Friockheim road). There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

Cheesy peeps Fifer, would you believe just come back from Roo's Leap - stuffed to the gunnels! Stopped off on the way back from Aberdeen. Not been out for ages, then 2 lunches in 2 days!
Thanks for letting me know about the Kookaburra, had never heard of it, but not far from me, so worth a try, as we do like Roos Leap.
Anyway, think will be a while before I get to try anywhere else, or will end up like a wee barrel - and no money left either!0 -
Roo's certainly does big portions.
If you like Roo's, I think you'll like the Kookaburra. I had Kangaroo and Haggis Wellington which was delicious, but they do a wide variety of steak, fish and other Australian-influenced dishes. The fillet steak stuffed with king prawns is a local favourite I believe.
I've heard there's a good Turkish restaurant in Forfar, but I haven't tried it.There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

Tyr Homus or Sukuk to start, book early and eat early food is amazing. Good Effes beer alsoTo be able under all circumstances to practice five things constitutes perfect virtue; these five things are gravity, generosity of soul, sincerity, earnestness and kindness.0 -
Thanks Fifer and Middleman - you two trying to make me fat here? Well I promise will give both a try, but will be a wee while yet - still to go on summer hols in September, so keeping my pennies for that.
Hope that both do good veggie food for me, OH is most definitely a meat-eater so all that Aussie meat/fish and prawn stuff are right up his street, and we both love Turkish food, and he loved the Efes! Think he will be supping some of that in a few weeks on hols.0 -
