I have to call in every day to school, unless the doctor has signed me off, so that they know what is happening each day, which is a pain, as I get nervous every time as to how the Head will be. She's been fine so far, but not sure how she'll react when I call her this afternoon about tomorrow. Hopefully the fact that I've been to the doctors will help there.

Babe, you self-certify for five of our working days. You do not need to ring in every day (can you email if you feel you must contact them every day) You do not sound well enough to be doing that. Tell them you will be off for the rest of the five days (seven really but take out the weekend) and get GP to sign you off for a week to take care of half term, or email them to say you are fit for work on Mon.

Get well soon, you are laying yourself far to open for this person to treat you badly. You have resigned, she can't give you a bad reference for having a chest infection.

keys get a smear, it doesn't hurt, honest! Doesn't take long either.

    wm on, dw on.

Well I've just got back from the doctors - luckily I was only in there for 2 minutes, and came straight home. It's not a chest infection - I have flu. He said if it gets worse though that I should come back as sometimes it can turn into a bacterial infection. Would explain the fever etc though. Called the Head's PA who will tell the head. grateful do I need to call over the half term? I'm not sure that there will be anyone in school, but have never been off sick next to a holiday before, so how does it work. Sorry for being off topic pigpen.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Hi all, been offline for a while to due baby and then PC broke (amazingly taking it apart and cleaning it appeared to fix it!)

Been keeping on top of the housework so it's not too bad but obviously lack of flying means it isn't perfect. Going to aim for level one basic cleanliness and see how we go... hoping I can do most of this today as DH at home and DS1 and 2 at preschool today.

    Living Room
    Declutter and vacuum
    Empty bin

    Kitchen
    Vacuum and mop
    Clean surfaces
    Clean Sink

    Bedroom
    Wash bedding
    Tidy up

    Bathroom
    Tidy
    Vacuum and mop
    Wipe sink and unit
    Clean toilet

as I've got lots of plans - Monday night Moon and I were due to go for dinner at the Slug & Lettuce as our Valentine's meal, and Tuesday is pancake day, then Friday, I'm getting my hair done.

Sexy I hope I'm on that list :p:D hope you feel better soon honey....thanks to you for being there for me as well.....especially when you feel so grim yourself :A xx

    *Rant Alert*
I don't want to sound like a broken record....but these discussions about smears are coming up with such regularity......please, please.....go have it done, it is such a simple test...ok, it may be undignified & slightly uncomfortable......but believe me that is nothing in comparison to the outcome if it's bad news.....take it from someone who is living the nightmare of terminal cancer......I'm sorry to go on about it........especially to all of you who have heard it before :o but it's worth it IMHO for any newbies :o

Big thanks to all of you for the continued support I get from this thread....normal service will be resumed as soon as possible :D

Happy Birthday Natty...have a wonderful day sweetie xx :bdaycake:

    I have a snow day!!

I was awake about four am worrying about trying to get to school with the amount of snow there is, and the very strong winds here - I had a fairly horrible drive home yesterday. Local radio had the school closures about 7, and I was so pleased to hear that DS's school and mine were closed.

I'm going to try a bit of flying today, although I'm sniffing and sneezing again.

dusty and other birdwatchers - I have some unusual birds in the garden, obviously migrants, not seen them before. They are large fluffy thrush family, with black eye liner and a pinky orange flush to the throat, white underneath and spotty chest- haven't found the bird book yet to id them.

sexy - you sound too unwell to be in school, or for that matter having to ring in. Get signed off and then relax. If you get antibiotics, you may feel well enough to go out on Monday. If not, a romantic meal on any other day will be just as special!! eta crossposted with you! Tuck up in bed or on the sofa, and read trashy novels, or watch films all day!

    :bdaycake:Happy birthday natty!!

Love and hugs for lady-liberty and toots.

Oh poor Sexymouse, no wonder you've been feeling so bad sweetheart. Just sleep as much as you can and take it easy.

Just having a quick cup of coffee before taking Pip to vets for blood test. DD was late into school today, first time ever :(. DS did a poo just at the wrong time (couldn't leave it as pre-school straight after I drop DD off). Would have been fine but DD then dawdled getting her scooter, got upset when I started walking on up the road with DS and just generally took for ever.

I've only got today's job on my list as I can't do everything, and I figure whatever I can do is a huge improvement on what I was doing before (nothing :o) and to be honest because I've been doing it every week nowhere is what I'd call minging!!!!!

    GTG - catch you later

Of course you're on my list, but not until I'm completely sure I've got rid of all possible bugs that you could catch - I'd feel awful if you got anything nasty from me.

    Big hugs to everyone,
