Easier said than done if they're so easy to work on at home.

I meant from when it was newer, obv.
Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.
  • I didn't think they did an S Class estate. Does dj have a one off S Class?

  • When buying an elderly Mercedes, try and get one with FSH.

    What does FSH mean?

I thought it was full service history.
I meant from when it was newer, obv.

If the FSH only lasts 6 of it's 12 years then how can it be FSH?

I know with skodas you get more car for you money buying them new, but do they maintain their reliability when they' re getting on a bit?

No votes for another landy, I notice.

They are as good as VW, IME.

How about a Peugeot 406 diesel estate?

I've got an old V40 and I'm very happy with it. Not terribly economical though and the V70 offers a lot more load space.

I also hired a Mondeo on holiday and was very impressed with that.

I've got a Nissan Primera 2.2DI SVE Estate as my winter runabout.

I used to drive an Almera which was fine - I bet these will be too.

Watch for seized rear calipers if it has discs all round and corrosion of the front crossmember if it's built anything like the Almera.

Mine was 2003 with 35k on the clock and suffered from both.
