As the Sancerre is £10.99 a bottle it may be worth buying that even if you want the soft drink option. The elderflower presse is worth nowhere near that amount, save the nice bottle of wine for birthday presents or barter with it for a larger quantity of soft drinks :)

Based on the experience of last year I would go for the chocolates (a small box but they look posh with a heart shaped one in the middle, supposed rrp £3.50) over the roses which were looking a bit past their best.

Thanks for that - I see the menu is a bit different from what was being rumoured.
I was looking forward to the Lochmuir salmon or rack of Lamb and Bluff wine but its not on this valantine menu- maybe some other people will feel the same.
Not sure about the wines - if anone could recommend one of these that would be great.

If you were looking forward to the Bluff Hill then try the sparkling white burgandy. Although I haven't tried it the non-sparkling version is my favourite wine in the whole M&S range (I work on the wine section a lot and although we don't get tasting sessions I'm working my way through the range at home!)

Well, have to admit after being slightly sceptical about having to spend £20, I am extremely pleased with what I've just bought. My bill would have been £34.54 and I didn't always get the most expensive stuff.

4 lovely loin chops - £9.59p; Sancerre £10.99; everything after that was free - I got fresh chips, strawberry and champagne souffle, coquille st. jacques and a small box of chocs (instead of the rose).

    Pretty damn good.
  • In the Preston store this morning I got the following:
    Bottle of sparkling Burgundy
    Coquilles St Jacques
Two 21 day matured rump steaks with peppercorn sauce
    Mediterranean vegetables
    Large pack of strawberries
    Red rose

All the above should have come to £33.94!!

The sparkly wine is lovely as are the Coquilles St Jacques and we are really looking forward to them
  • If you have the M&S card vouchers giving you 10% off for using your cc on food/flowers now is the time to use them as you get 10% off the whole price so if the meal deal came to £34 then you will get £3.40 off.
