Finally found you all back on page three!

My attempt at cooking my fish dish without fat (olive oil) failed, partly because I overcooked it and partly because I should have wrapped it in foil to keep it moist because I wasn't using any fat so all the marinade burnt! I had meant to try it with foil but forgot as DH was having a man period and getting all stroppy and then wanting to talk about it (I think he's more hormonal than me now!).
Snacks have been my yummy homemade flapjack and a mini magnum style ice cream.

  • any room for another? i'm in need of a bit of OS encouragement.

usually people at work comment how they haven't seen anybody eat as much as me and how do i not put weight on etc but i weighed myself and have put on over 2 stones! so time for me to get strict on myself i think. my weak spot is free food and there is always cakes and chocolates in the office!

i seem to have my appetite a bit under control and today have eaten:

    B: Grapes and strawberries
L: Wholewheat pasta, chickpeas, carrots, peas, quorn pieces and raisins with chilli seeds and herbs.
    S: Apple
D: Meat offcuts (bit fatty really but needed using up. Included beef, roast chicken, ham) and a spring onion! Also 3/4s of a fig roll that my toddler left oops.

evening all and welcome to the newbies - the more the merrier :D

not a bad day at all really,
had ususal wm toast for breakfast & an apple

lunch was the last of the marinated chicken breast with huge salad

nibbled on half a samosa (someone brought them in and i felt rude not trying them)

dinner was cous cous with roasted veg & a bit of feta (much less than i'd usually put in :A) a 74 cal fruit bar and ive just had an apple after swimming. only did 40 lengths tonight as my legs hurt.

    tomorrows plan is:

    toast x 2wm - yawn, yawn i know. apple

rest of the cous cous, veg & feta

dinner will be a pork loin steak, ,mashed BNS & asparagus

i will prob have a snack when the kids have their tea as my dinner will be late (swimminng again)

hope your having a pleasant, low cal evening :D

  • your menu plan for tomorrow sounds lush vixtress! what is BNS?

Tomorrow I'm on training so will try to make time for breakfast beforehand (usually eat it in work). Planning on:

B: Extremely Exotic Muesli from Aldi - it's lush and similar to Dorset Cereals but around half the price. Only have full fat milk in though. Prefer semi-skimmed but we get 2litre full fat for toddler and as we don't have much milk seems more moneysaving to just buy his big £1 bottle :/ Will using half water/half milk on cereal make up for using full fat?
S: Sometimes tomato soup available in free vending machine
L: Meal provided on training... note to self: I must refuse fattiest options......
S: Will grab a piece of fruit with lunch
    D: Stew maybe

Welcome, Miss Penny Pincher (and anyone else my inattentive self has missed) :)

I imagine BNS stands for butternut squash (mmmmmmmmmmmmm....... yummm........), but I expect vixtress will let us know if I'm wrong.

    Hi All - warning....long post alert! ;)

Firstly welcome Miss Penny Pincher and Gigi :hello: good luck in achieving your goals.

I've had a very frugal day on the food front today in an attempt to bank some calories ahead of the gastric extravaganza that starts tomorrow :o

    Today
    B - Porridge
L - 4 Ryvita, boiled egg, tomato and cucumber, apple
    D - chicken salad

I'm away with work from tomorrow til Friday and will have little control over menu choices as most of them will be set:

    Tomorrow
    B -Grapefruit
L- Pub Lunch (will look for lite options)
D -Black Tie Dinner (set menu) note to self: DON'T go near the bread rolls and DON'T even look at the butter!!;)
Drink - probably a few (need to avoid wine and stick to spirits with low cal mixers)

    Thurs
    B - Fruit
L - Working Lunch (set menu)
D -Think we're booked to take clients to an Indian restaurant
Drinks - planning to avoid drinking

    Friday
    B -Fruit
    L -Working Lunch (set menu)
    D - Not sure yet

I'm determined not to give into temptation over the next few days (to include the obligatory pastries that are served with every coffee break :() and wherever possible seek out the healthy options...I'm even taking my scales with me so that I can do my usual Friday weigh in :o

Hope you all have a good couple of days...catch up again on Friday :)

Weigh in this morning at 12st 5lb so a loss of 2lb, however I'm pretty sure a lb of that must be dehydration from last night's cider binge so I wouldn't be surprised if it's back on tomorrow! I'll count it anyway, even if it means next weeks total doesn't look so good. So 2lb off my 5lb target for the month. Running is about to step up a gear (though haven't been able to get out since Saturday, won't until tomorrow earliest) so that should help nudge some pounds off.
However I am now into the 'Ideal' catagory on the Wii Fit instead of 'overweight' which is certainly something to celebrate!

:T Well done Ragz what a brilliant start to the month - and thanks for all the dieting tips, I'm finding them really helpful!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Morning all, and welcome to Miss Penny Pincher - as vixtress says, the more the merrier! :)

I have a small confession to make: after reading ragz's helpful comments about fat yesterday, I went and smeared butter on the bread I had with my dinner. There's no hope for me, is there? :o

    Today is:

B - small portion of muesli with SS milk and stewed rhubarb
S - mini pack of dried fruit and nuts
L - ham and cucumber sandwich on HM WM bread (no butter this time! ;))
    S - apple
D - veg and noodle stirfry with sweet chilli sauce and sesame seeds (I'm at the pre-holiday stage of using up what's in the fridge, so I'll be eating some slightly odd combinations for the next couple of days!)

Exercise - if the rain stays away I need to walk down to the slightly more distant shops (about a mile and a half away) as my nearest shop doesn't have the product I need for my holiday.

    Have a good day, all.
Back after a very long break!

Morning all - weigh day today - lost 1.5lbs since last Wednesday. Not brilliant but considering the first 3 days of the week I was really naughty, I will settle for that I suppose! Plus I succumbed to temptation and had a couple of glasses a wine last night! My total weight loss now stands at 5 lbs. Far less than I had hoped to lose in nearly 6 weeks but slow and steady wins the race they say! I shall plod on and hope to do better this week!

    Today:
    B - porridge with raspberries
L - HM soup, tortilla with salad & thin ham. Strawberries & Cadbury's lite choc mousse (my addiction continues!!)
D - Chicken with a few new pots and assorted veg. Mini meringue with SF jelly, raspberries & FF yogurt.
S - fruit (says she hopefully!)

    Have a good day everybody!
