I also made Dahl yesterday, mine was scrummy, only needed a tiny bowl full for lunch it's so filling. I made this one but added a few tsp of tomato puree for colour mostly.

The NO S diet sounds like hard work, though congrats to those of you who are making it work. Ideally you need to eat 'something' every few hours to keep your blood sugar levels steady (that's what snacks are for!) so I wouldn't really recommend it unless you are being very careful to eat slow energy release foods at each meal and are prepared for the dips in energy and associated rattiness! Also the less you eat, the slower your metabolism becomes.

I'm going to start posting what I eat, so I can stop sneaking in slices of fruit loaf (fat free but I did put butter on my 4 small slices yesterday!). Will update later.

    Today -
Breakfast -One slice of granary toast, with marmite and lo-fat soft cheese (fake Philly!), This is Yummy and really satisfies the savory urge!
Snack - One choc chip brioche. Half a small apple (shared with DD)
Lunch - small bowl of lentil and potato curry (left over Dahl and left over new pots!) 1/2 fromage frais (shared with DD)
    Snack -
Dinner - Chili pasta bake (pork mince and kidney beans)

Was chatting to various people about exercise yesterday and bemoaning that I can't do much with my 1 year old around. Spotted a pushchair at the tip this morning that looks like it could be used while jogging (big 3 wheels) so I'll get that later and give it a go, would be great to be able to get out and jog! Considered exercise classes but they are so expensive, and I would have a 30 mile round trip to the Gym/pool so this may be the solution.

Good luck to everyone today, keep those May targets in mind!

Hi All - been ages since I posted but have been reading through. so good to see so many posting and supporting and I agree everyone is so happy!

I have been so busy of late that my eating and drinking have gone to pot, when I last stepped on the scales they were around the same 10' 3 (ish :)) so think I must have some self control going on....

Anyway long weekends over and some normality is coming back to the weekday routine sooooooo should be able to get some sort of plan together - soon :rotfl:

    yesterday was:
B: last of easter egg, yogurt & banana
L: tuna mayo & sweetcorn sandwich with diet fizzy drink
S: crisps and choc's from easter egg
    S: last of spicy sausage
D: veggie stew with pan fried chicken and the last glass of wine in the house.

    Today is:
B: single pack of cereal with splash of milk
    S: yogurt & banana
L: left overs of last nights dinner, sparkling water
    S: kiwi fruit
D: chicken stirfry, OH will have noodles or rice I will try and resist

Wanted to say about below that I'm not surprised your finding it hard on those timings!

Could you split breakfast into two? so you eat the same amount but at 7 and 10. Then maybe have a piece of fruit at 4.30/5pm ish to see you through?

I am attempting the No S diet also, finding it really hard though, I eat breakfast at 7, lunch isn't untill 1245, my belly is rumbling by about 1030 :( Maybe I should eat more for breakfast. Same with after lunch, finish eating at 1, don't have dinner till about 7pm, think I will just have to limit my snacks, and not eat after my evening meal!!

Good luck, looking forward to hearing everyones success stories! x

Zumba lady just told me I am shrinking - she says it notices even tho I had my fleece on!

That means the 2 walking club lunchtimes, the 2-3 walk/jog sessions and the once a week lunchtime Zumba classes must finally be paying off! (still finding it hard to co-ordinate simultaeneous bumm-wiggling and arm waving though:rotfl:)

Haven't weighed myself since before Easter - have got doc's WI next Friday so will do home WI before I go. . . fingers crossed.

    Hey all!

Today wasn't too bad, had normal w33tabix at 7, then actimel at 10, lunch at 1, got a banana for about 430ish!

Only thing is it doesn't follow the rules of the No S diet (no snacks!)

But i'm quite happy with what i'm doing so just gonna stick to that!

This thread is really keeping me inspired! x

Hi all, Well done to all those who are losing or indeed those who aren't gaining! ;)

    well so far today:

b: 40g fake just right cereal with oat milk
    s: alpen bar - 70 calories
l: jacket potato without any marge, with tuna, spring onion and a tiny bit of mayo
    d: will be chilli wraps

Also managed to walk 2 miles to work this morning.

Now I have to pop to Aldi.... dangerous ground and hopefully I can only buy the bits I need - and maybe some fruit and veg.

    See you later.

ooh can i join in ,i have 3 stone to lose,
today i have had 2 poached eggs on toast and salad for tea, no lunch as i have been out all day,
i have a long road ahead of me i think, but i will be saving calories by haveing absolutely no booze, i will try and eat more fruit but to be honest apart from bananas i dont like it,
and all the walking i have to do you'd think i would weigh about 6 stone!
i must get this weight off now before i hit the menopause and it will get even harder to shift, anyway i am really motivated,
seeing my husband suffer with his diabetes makes me even more determined because that was how he developed it,

Hi, can I join? I've been a yo-yo dieter for years, and about 2 years ago I started (yet again) to get my weight down. I started at 11 stone 5 pounds, and my lowest weight that I got down to was 9 stone 5 pounds, which took me to 7 pounds off my goal weight (according to my wii fit that's what I need to aim for to get to my ideal BMI) after that I was going up and down by a couple of pounds but not shifting any extra which was frustrating, and then over Christmas I put on quite a bit, managed to lose some, and then I've put on a bit more over Easter.

I'm going to try for the 7 pounds in May challenge, and post on here how I'm doing, so hopefully that will give me the kick up the bum I need (if anyone else wants to give me a kick feel free, lol!). My weight last Friday, when I do my official weigh in, was 10 stone so I'll put that as my starting weight for the challenge.

Today I've done a lot of jobs around the house, which involved a lot of walking up and down the stairs, and I'm now going to have half hour on my wii before having something to eat. I've been very good on the eating front today, having only had 2 bowls of cereal, 1 for breakfast and 1 for lunch, as I've been busy and haven't felt hungry and I found some crisps in a tub under the stairs, (which were left over from Christmas) and threw them out for the birds so I won't be tempted by them later.

    Good luck everyone.

    Sue.
