Well yesterday was a bit of a failure!
Wasn't content with my Salad from the Garden had a chicken coronation roll from the sandwhich shop down the road, then had a caramel slice at work. THEN I had Mac cheese when I got home
Was doing so well all week. Not gonna beat myself up about it, the weekend is here and i'm having a punch & cocktail night! so that will be full of pizza, crips & dip etc.
Anyways, today goes like this:
B- 2 poached eggs on brown toast
Sn- Actimel
L- Left over mac cheese (very small portion)
Sn- Banana
Di- Pizza and general party munchies!
Hope everyone has a great weekend, I don't think i'll be posting much! xxx0 -
I had a quick step on the scales this morning (a day early as Saturday is my usual weigh day) and found I've lost no weight at all so far this week.
In know I ate a bit unhealthily over the bank holiday weekend but no weight loss at all's quite disappointing (although better than a gain, I suppose
).
Today is all about being scrupulously good in the hope of improving matters by tomorrow: :undecided
B - handful of nuts and dried fruit (I ran out of time for a proper breakfast, and wasn't very hungry anyway)
S - 2 kiwi fruit (and I will eat the flippin' things today!)
L - Black Forest Ham and cucumber sarnie on HM brown bread; radishes
S - apple
D - grilled large flat mushroom with red pesto and a sprinkling of cheese; polenta wedges; salad
I'll go for a walk at lunchtime for some exercise, and won't have any alcohol today, despite it being Friday.
Good luck for the day, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Yesterday was not a good diet day
But today is a new day and its got off to a good start. So far, fruit salad of apple, pear and grape with homemade 1% yogurt for breakfast. Went for a half hour walk with double pushchair uphill. Tea is in slow cooker, chicken leg, potato, carrott and onion in cider. Not sure what i'm going to d for lunch yet. Im think maybe soup or baked potato.

Day 1) half tin of l/s beans on w/m toast, prawn salad(no dressing) w/meal bread (1 slice), Average Jacket with salad
Day 2) Grill up(1 quorn sausage, 2 turkey rashers, 1 egg, mushies & toms), Chicken & veggies in gravy(no spud), mushrooms on toast
Day 3) Fruit, Ham Salad & couscous, Chicken breast, h/m (frylight) wedges & salad
Day 4) Fruit & yoghurt, seafood sticks & salad, kedgeree(rice, fish, veggies, no oils or dressings)
Day 5) Breakfast Biscuits, Blt sarnie(2 rashers lean back, tomatoes, cue, lettuce, no dressing or spread), Quorn spag bol(made with hm veggie sauce with no nasties and a portion pasta)
Day 6) Fruit, Ham Salad & couscous, Egg on toast(there's only me and is w/m toast)
Day 7) Fruit, Ham Salad Sandwich, Quorn sausage, half tin beans and "portion" of mashed potato
Yes, I do like Ham and salad but after a week will prob rethink, but am aiming for really low stuff at the moment, I have been so good not eating between meals so it's three from here on in! Any advice appreciated
(You did ask for criticism!) Where you say 'Fruit', is that your entire breakfast on quite a few days? If so that's really not enough, IMO. Depending on which fruits you eat, you will probably just be getting a big sugar rush from these and the lack of protein and carbs will leave you really hungry, lightheaded and cranky within a few hours. It's best to start the day with a larger breakfast, including protein and carbs and have a smaller lunch or dinner. The beans on toast and the grill up are fine but fruit is not a meal! (Sorry, I am regularly lecturing people on the benefits of breakfast!)
Today I am a little sore from yesterdays C25K session but not as bad as I expected, though it really did show me just how un-like jogging the Wii jogging is... I can do that for 10-20 minutes but it's no where near as hard as actually jogging for real, so I may not bother with it any more, just do the boxing, hula-hooping and step-up.
Food plan today
Breakfast - 2 poached eggs on 2 slices of granary toast
Lunch - HM Tomato and basil soup
Snack - Dried Apricots
Dinner - Yesterday's pasta with more veg.
Got a load of frozen berries in the freezer that I must make something yummy and healthy out of...
Have a good day everyone!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Ok so now for the bit I don't usually confess... I am stuck just under the 12 stone mark - seem to hover between 11:10 to 12:2.
So ideally have 1.5-2 stone to lose  - aiming for 7lbs but happy with anything that takes me below that sticky 11:10.
I know that feeling, last May I got to within 7 pounds of my goal weight and I'm still trying to get there, I was doing so well but couldn't lose the last bit, and then put some more on again:mad:! Don't give up you will get there, then comes the hard part of keeping it off, lol!procrastinator wrote: »Bad bad bad day. Popped into poundland on way home and bought multipack of wotsits???? Why??? I knew what would happen. But oh no, told myself I would be good, but I lied. To myself. What an idiot.
All gone. I feel sick. v sick.
I've done this so many times, but what can you do once you've eaten it? Only carry on with your diet and exercise, take each day as it comes, and don't feel you've wrecked everything because of one slip. My mantra when I'm trying to lose weight is 'avoid the naughty aisle!', if I don't walk past it I'm not tempted.Been very busy clearing an overgrown garden but doesn't seem that the exercise is enough to shift the fat!
Gardening can be very good for losing weight. When we moved into our house it had been empty for months, and the garden had about 4 foot high grass. We didn't have any garden tools, or much money to buy any, so OH borrowed some shears and cut it all down, on his hands and knees, until it was all clear (we found a path that we didn't know was there while clearing it, lol) and he lost loads of weight while still eating normally.
I weighed in this morning and I've lost 2 pounds this week, yay!:) I was very good yesterday as I was 'working with the devil', lol, a mate who always tempts me with goodies from what I call 'the naughty cupboard', but I told her that I was back on my diet and I was going to be good, and we both just had a banana instead of biscuits and chocs! However, I was roped into helping at a polling station last night, and one of the people I was working with had brought in some biscuits, and I did give in and have 2 of those:o, but as I didn't have much else to eat yesterday, and I did walk to the polling station which took half an hour, I don't think I've done much harm by having them.
Had cereal for breakfast, as usual, will prob have some soup with a wholemeal roll for lunch, and then having a nice jacket potato with beans for tea tonight. Working with 'the devil' again this afternoon so must be firm, lol!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

gosh there are so many of us now!! lovely to read through but I get lost with names - so Well Done all, good or bad times at least we are admitting it which is half the battle.
yesterday we had donuts brought in and as we don't get many I decided to forfeit somehting else to have one. So I had a tin of soup for lunch (150 cals) instead of a sandwich (300 cals min) and no potato with dinner so think I balanced out :j If I hadn't joined the 7 in May the donut would have been added to normal eating!
I have also MADE sandwiches today - real rarity for me and I know how many calories are in there so that is a bonus.
Also made my coleslaw with salad cream as it is half the calories of mayo so will use that as a snacking item when I get home and I'm 'starving' (in my mind :rotfl:)
Today:
B: smoothie
S: didn't have anything!
L: cheese&pickle roll and a ham&tom roll, yogurt (from yesterday)
S: apple(change from plan) last of pork steaks with handful of chips, salad and coleslaw
should come in around 1700 cals and only drinking soft drinks tonight so should stay around 2000 cals - humm must try harder!0 -
Made a cake for BIL's b'day tomorrow... I'll have to add several finger fulls of 'cake mix' to my food diary, and also some of the cake off cuts... BUT I realised I was going to end up eating ALL the cake offcuts so I BINNED THEM! This is a big deal for me as I HATE waste so I usually eat things rather than chuck them, but I told myself it's even more of a waste if I eat it and it ruins my weight loss... so I'm rather pleased with myself for that minor triumph and not feeling too bad about the bits that I DID eat as I only had soup for lunch.
Well done Sue14 on your 2lb loss, that's great!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I agree very much with having a good breakfast. There is no way I can manage without (healthy) snacks either.
I have also spread out my eating times as evenly as poss now, and that is definately holding back the hunger pangs. Honestly, I have scheduled myself to within an inch of my life to get this weight off, talk about control freak...but it is the only way I think I can do it.
So here goes the weekend everyone...be good, I am definately going to try!Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.0 -
Sorry all, been away having stresses with family, relationships, et al. But managing (so far) not to comfort eat and trying hard to still get out and do my walking.
I have decided that I need to cut down on the amount of mayo I use, I have developed a bad habit of taking the jar to the table and I use a lot more if I do that, so back to little dishes
Today -
Bfast - quorn slices with egg
Lunch - tikka wrap with salad
Tea - veggie curry and rice
Snack - mango and peanut mix from graze

Do you use low fat mayo? The Tesco one has improved dramatically recently, it's whipped like Hellmans and they even use free range eggs in it. When hubby and I first got together he used to insist on the full fat stuff but now he'll eat that one no problem. Makes a HUGE difference in the fat content. But yes, a blob on your plate or a little dish is a great idea to keep portions under control.I have also spread out my eating times as evenly as poss now, and that is definately holding back the hunger pangs. Not a bad idea if it works, I may try that! Though as you can see by my inability to even stick to a day food plan at the moment let alone my weekly meal plan, I think I may find it hard!
Dinner plan went awol again, so I made a veg soup and had that with a pack of crisps as we had no bread defrosted. Legs still ache a bit from yesterday but I did do over half an hour walking today. Have a cold, been cleaning all day and house still looks a mess...June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
