Thank you for your support, and I will try and be good, but mostly I will try and be honest with myself. Trust me, all, my partner and I have had many (many) conversations about not buying goodies for me, about me dying younger, about diabetes, but essentially they like to think they are taking care of me, and they do that by feeding me! We try again, and I hope I am strong enough this time to resist until they get the message that I need their help in other ways. And no, they are not at all overweight.

I had ME following an illness and it lasted about 10 years, awful times some days, less so other days. I gradually became a little better and a little better and now I class myself as well, although I am always careful with not getting too tired, careful with illnessesa round me etc. I know it can come back, but I have developed the mind set I won't let it! One overhang from it is I have depressive days, and can comfort eat on those days. But other days are ok. ME is often misunderstood, so it's always great when people ask questions about it.

Today I had egg on toast for breakfast, a new potato salad with plum tomatoes and mushrooms in a mustard dressing for lunch followed by an apricot yoghurt. For tea tonight we have quorn pies with broccoli, cauliflower, broad beans, peas and sweetcorn. And I'll probably have some tinned fruit as well

I know what you mean about depressive moods and comfort eating, I'm really bad for it and have had depression for a long time, I do find exercise helps with it though. I did rubbish with food today lol but I am def starting tomorrow xx

I have a question about 5 a day portion sizes.

I know it is one apple, orange etc. Generally a handful of smaller fruit. I think it is 80gms that is a portion. But I am sure it is supposed to be two tomatoes. Well today I weighed my tomato as there was only one and it weighed about 100gms. Does this count as a portion or do I still have to have two? Anyone know? Also if a kiwi fruit has more vit c than an orange do you have to have two kiwis for a portion?

Hi Esther, 2 small fruits - such as kiwi - is generally classed as one portion. 1 large tomato will be the same equivalent as 2 small ones etc etc.
            Hope that answers your question.

            Hi all,

Decent enough day for me yesterday, trying to get in more complete protein but I find it tough because I don't eat much meat and dairy and eggs give me acid reflux but I'm making small changes to see if I can increase my tolerance :)

            Yesterday:

B: porridge made with skimmed milk

L: Moroccan harrira soup, 1 slice wholemeal bread

D: Feta salad wrap with real potato wedges

S: yoghurt, apple and half a fruit scone

            Today:

B: 2 wholemeal toast with HM jam and a banana

L: Mozarella ciabatta with vine tomatoes and pesto

D: HM Roasted vegetable lasagne and a large salad with balsamic dressing and toasted pine nuts

S: lots of water and some brazil nuts

Off out into the hills for some mountain biking, probably going to do between 11 and 14 miles of uphill and down

Have a fab weekend all :)

Well, my diet just went completely down the pan yesterday as mother in law made burgers and chicken legs as we always go over there on sunday, had one biscuit and some fruit for dessert though. However then went home and ate half a bar of galaxy (not the single ones lol) :-S

            Hi All,

My weekend was a write off, the meal out ended up as kebab on the way home due to the chef going home early and no one had checked the bookings!! (won't be going back!)

I also pigged out on a chinese without any portion control restraint :o

So at my WI this morning I was 1lb up, even though I did double my morning dog walk. This means all this year I have been gaining and losing the same weight and its July . So I [STRIKE]must[/STRIKE] MUST do better.

            TODAY:
B: single portion of cereal with small amount of milk
S: sausage roll (out of date but I'm to tight to throw out!)
L: left over HM thai curry& rice (it was fridays, re above)
D: 2 small chicken legs and veg (no carbs!)

Well looking at that list I can improve on that too. :)

Well my weekend was not too bad, although I confess Smiler34, that if I had had a bar of chocolate in the house yesterday it would have met a sudden and brilliant end! I even managed a trip to the cinema without any ice cream (although I did manage a couple of handfuls of my friends popcorn....)

managed exercise on Saturday, but nothing for Sunday

            Today

            Breakfast - weetabix
Lunch - new potato salad with veggies and herb dressing
Tea - fish, sweet potato jackets, peas, sweetcorn
            plus yoghurts
and I usually only drink water

Been away at the seaside for a few days so healthy eating sort of went by the wayside! Did lots of walking though so didn't actually gain any weight.

                    Today

B - Weetabix, milk, sug - topped with mandarins (very nice it was too)
                    Sn - Oaty bar thing
                    L - Tuna melt & salad
D - Egg & HM chips mmmmmmmm, followed by yog with fruity bits

Ex - 1 hour walking (already done 20mins)

                    Tomorrow
can't remember, left my plan at home!
