Just to reassure you, lard is fine to use in sweet things and doesn't impart a beefy (or a porky) taste to things. I always make baked porridge with lard because it tastes nicer made with lard than with butter or coconut oil.

Baked porridge - que? I've not heard of baked porridge before - but, as someone who likes my porridge at breakfast time - I imagine I would like this.

I'd obviously use butter (or just maybe coconut oil) rather than lard if I did it.

So - whats the recipe for it please?:)

It could be one for my repertoire...

    EDIT:

    just googled and found:

    http://www.plaincook.com/three-bears-baked-porridge-Recipe-2008-06-10

Is that anything like the one you do? I presume this recipe would involved the porridge oats being made with water...Sounds nice...

    My children do drink tea.
We have a teapot and use 2 bags a pot and get about 4 or 5 cups out of it.
We probably go through anything from 2 pots upto 8 pots a day. It really just depends. There is no way my family would go without tea for a month....

weezl of course not....but we would have to have tea..

I would personally like to see everything food and drink wise covered in the £100, otherwise it starts to feel like the £100 doesn't cover everything and Bob & Shirl have to find more money than originally quoted.

(I'm not sure if what I've said there makes sense and I certainly don't wish to offend. I guess I just want to be able to quote £100 to people and it's going to cost them £100. It's enough that they need to find another amount of money for their cleaning and toiletry requirements. I'd hate it to be harder than it needs to be.)

My family tried a pigs head....I was very excited by the idea of t but we all found it really fatty and it made us all feel a bit queasy...I couldn't deal with the trotters either (what a wuss!)

Well I was 6 weeks pregnant with Fergie when I did it and was just starting to get into the nauseous bit, and when I was shaving around his eyes and taking the brain out I had to go have a little sit down with my head between my knees, so I kind of associated the icky feeling with the piggy! But DH does often ask when we might have the lovely pork pies again, so maybe I will brave it again one day :)

Shall I get shirl to make it? It made 25 dinners worth of meat and was free!

I see your point Frankie but drink could be included with water so technically it is all included.

However I am probably being unrealistic that tea drinkers will be prepared to give it up. I suppose even if the famous 50p lady couldnt give up her coffee then tea may be a non negotiable.

    What would you suggest Frankie?

I remember-I used to lurk that thread and ISOm was doing a running commentry. I cant say I was surprised you were pregnant as you hadnt seemed the squeamish type before then.
