Re the paneer cheese - I am puzzled by the reference to having to use UHT milk to make this. I know there is a recipe for paneer cheese on MSE that uses UHT milk - but I've just checked recipes on Google. Both the ones I came up with instantly use standard full-fat milk.

I have made paneer with standard full fat milk and UHT whole milk and it worked out absolutely fine with both :).

thanks all for the UHT thoughts, I've gone back now to my original sources on the homemade cheese (took a while to find the linkies:o) I think the rule to use UHT was about killing the bacteria (ie listeria) which if the cheese is not to be consumed immediately the whey has dried away, will begin to multiply even if in the fridge. This is why pregnant women are advised to avoid soft cheeses. Those soft cheeses have already been ultra heat treated and yet listeria is still a risk. HM paneer cheese if eaten immediately is ok but I would be concerned about even a few days of delay, especially if shirley (who we are defining as pre-menopausal) and or Jenny (who is post-menarche- we've already built that into what we're trying to accomodate) could theoretically be pregnant.

I would not feel comfortable with saying that this was a baseline healthy planner and include a HM cheese made with not treated to a high temperature milk. And that is why I raised it when we were discussing 'what types of processing are acceptable?'.

To summarise: Because I think I haven't expressed that very well: since I want to deliver a baseline healthy planner, how can I achieve UHT milk in a way which satisfies the no/little processed foods non-negotiable. So that question would need to be included in the survey.

moring all...umm can I just say I'm getting really confused with so much talk of different plans...cant we just stick to the first one, get that out and then go on with others? Maybe its just me but think the 100 planner would move faster if we did...just a thought!

    Morning :j

I think I have to second ISOM's comment. I am really confused with the planners, although I am really enjoying everyone's ideas Im getting worried that the index I have put up is wrong as each recipe seems to have many different variations.:o

Weezl or indeed anyone could you check the index for the first plans meals just to make sure they are the right ones? If not let me know and I will change it when I go back to work.:A

Also in regards to how we are going to format this. Personally I feel a webpage with an overview, a weekly plan and timetable (printable) with links to the nutritional info would be good. Also if we could go live with it with JUST the first plan which would be complete then we can focus on all manors of variations and slowly upload then as and when.:T

Just a suggestion though-please feel free to disregardXXX

good morning lovely, hope you slept ok :)

Hope the dentist wasn't too

thanks for saying that, it helps me to see how people might be seeing things.

I'm not personally delaying anything whilst waiting to hear about planner 4. The delays on planner 1 (although I think we're moving pretty far pretty fast when you think about what we've achieved under what circumstances!) are about:

    not everything has been tested

Lesley and I have not had chance to finalise what the breakfasts and lunches of planner 1 are ready for Frankie and family, Ariarnia, and co to run with for the first month. (lesley I am up for a bit of this tonight if you are free? Fergus goes to sleep at 7 and DH is happy to amuse Kester while I look after bob and shirley-*wonders if she should include bob and shirl in her sig as they are more blinkin demanding than her babies sometimes:rotfl:*

there's an untested stuffing part in the main meals (frankie tested, but wondered if the fact that their family don't really like stuffing might not make the feedback applicable across the board) I'd quite like to make and take photos of the alfredo and the bean curry but I think they're good enough to run with.

we don't yet have an easy recipe booklet/webpage/mega index on here/googledocs/windowslive that we can hold the shopping list, planner and recipes so the month 1 testers can easily find them. Lesley has looked a lot at this. Current snag-a tester family/person would need to be happy with giving their email address to a stranger, which is obviously not ideal if people prefer not to. We can work round this by asking people to create a new email account with a new provider ie Yahoo if you currently use hotmail) but this is a bit of a faff. Also we can't upload everything we want to in the way we want to to the windows live environment. Also I suspect that the way I've written that last paragraph has put a lot of people off because I've mentioned technologies you haven't even heard of.

If so, please don't be put off! I absolutely promise that if you'd like to test the month one planner but are put off by any aspect of the presentation I will do my utmost to get it to you in a format you find friendly. I will send you a printed off booklet in the post to make this happen if you'd like me to.

I'd like to start the new thread where people diary and hold hands about it once a few more people have had opportunity to decide if they would like to do it. I feel this for the sake of those who've currently said yes. I think if you start with too small a number, and then a few have to drop out because of real life  taking over, then it could be disheartening and discouraging for those remaining.

so unless anyone is holding off from doing any of those things in order to discuss paneer cheese :rotfl:then in my mind they aren't delaying things.

    Does that make sense?

I think people may be delaying too because they are being respectful of not burdening me when I've just had a baby.

I acknowledge this and think it is right and kind. All I can say on that is that I'll do what I can and stop when I need to and I'll let you all know which 'headspace' I'm in on each day, cos I don't really know beyond that. I think you're all ok with that, just wanted to spell it out :)

thanks arty, those points duly noted :)

I will check later on but if anyone else has their detailed head switched on and would like to do it sooner then be my guest I would love that :)

    It would be to:

look at ether aless or allegra's month 1 suggested meal orders list and check that there's a valid up to date linkie to each recipe mentioned on there.

It should be pretty obvious which ones look ready to run with and which ones are still a bit sketchy:rotfl:

I also completely agree about giving the month one planner a chance to be tested before any other planners get published, or it will rapidly become very confusing.

To this end I will only ask for testers for any other recipes but I won't post any suggested meal plans, shopping lists etc for the other 2/3/4...

possible extra researching task for susan, as well as the balsamic, can you maybe investigate a suggestable swap for the sweetcorn which appears in the fritters and the spanish omelette and a soup.

I'd need it to be a great match for price, okish for nutrition and a good match for ease/ niceness to tate within the recipes it appears in, if that makes any sense? :)

sorry forgot to say earlier, re ready brek and asda.

Everytime I'm saying ready brek I mean the stuff which is on the shopping list which is supermarket's own instant hot oat cereal.

By asda I always mean cheapest supermarket.

I am not endorsing any products companies or brands :)

we just have to refer to them as something, for the sake of getting on with things I think?

ok I'm off out for a bit to get some shopping for the boys, in the meantime, there's someething I've wanted to address for a while but haven't expressed clearly. I shall link this post from post 1 of the thread so it's clear from the outset.

A number of people are (rightly) asking questions about where I'm coming from in doing this, and why. It's a theme that our thread comes back to at times. I've answered this at various levels elsewhere, with my in a nutshell 'teach him to fish and you feed him for life'.

However I think it's perhaps not enough just to say that.

    So here goes.

Just who exactly is this weezl and why is she doing this project?- a credo from the weezl

I believe that doing good involves finding out what is needed to help the greatest number of people, and acting on it in a way which is relevant and useful to them.

I believe it would be good to help people to help themselves out of financial crisis.

I do not judge people for being in a financial crisis. I feel sad and want to help.

I do not want anyone to become unhealthy as a result of taking a solution I offer them.

I do not want to coerce anyone into doing anything they aren't happy and consenting to do. I want to remain respectful to all members of the thread and to all our Bob and Shirleys.

I am at a values level, Judeo-christian in both background and ethics.

I am at a personality level both conscientious and people-pleasing. I think both of these facets come out strongly on the thread. (rightly and wrongly :rotfl:)

Other than the above statements, I have no hidden agenda here. If you could see inside my brain, that's what's there.
