Could I have a link to the bit where you have your mealplanner purlease?:)

Ceridwen, have posted it to Googledocs so you can see it here.

Some of the formula haven't survived the upload, but you should be able to see it alright

Lots to do on it yet

Thanks for that - will be interested to see final version of this.

Have currently got your "Savoury Carrot Layer" in the oven. So far - looking and smelling good:). A less frugal version - as I've used butter instead of buttery spread and a bit more egg than stated (as I'm doing half quantity - so, rather than try for 1.5 eggs - I've used 2).

So - done my ceridwen tweaks for own personal use there with that - and the flour is wholemeal/organic/stoneground.......

Will be having it in a minute with spicy potato wedges, peas and a bit of home-made (not by me) courgette chutney (errr....whoops...possibly a bit of sugar in it? - dont know...as bought at a Green Event).

Lesley, your planner is looking great. I don't eat meat and yet there is so much I can make from it. I love your recipes ideas! So thanks for this. :D

glad you like it, must say I'm pleased with how it is shaping up. We were veggie for about 15 years, so have quite a store of recipes from then, and still like to eat veggie pretty often

Just tried the pastry made with oil for a pie. Added a little more water and it rolled beautifully. Cooked it had a lovely short texture and tasted good too, so I'll def do that again

If you want any of the recipes from the planner that I haven't posted, just shout and I'll post them

mmm, that sounds a tasty combination. When you say whoops sugar, do you try not to eat any at all?

yep - I try not to ever eat sugar if I can help it. Not always possible to avoid it - but I reckon I have VERY little compared to most people. Re my current MSE "signature" re doing a time-travel back to the 1970s in a Tardis - I never had my own copy of the books concerned - now I will though:D. I've ordered the (updated) version of "Limits to Growth" and also "Silent Spring". The food one of the three (ie "Pure, White and Deadly") is currently very expensively priced on Amazon - so I've ordered a similar one ("Sugar Blues") - so will be able to "refresh my memory" as to why.... Also awaiting the other two books by Constance Mellor (a 1970s naturopath) - as I've had one of hers all along.

This is certainly prompting me to do a bit of "revisiting" of previous reading...

Anyways - I've just finished my dinner and that carrot recipe was quite tasty:) - guess its a sorta vegetarian take on moussaka?

So - worth doing again...and various other veggie versions (I'm thinking maybe some cooked brown lentils and sauted onions next time - with that eggy/cheesy sauce on the top).

EDIT: An entry I found about sugar before on Google has gone up to the top of the page again - which is good....as I'd posted it before on MSE and then lost track of it. I've posted it over to my MSE homepage now...

I'm just catching up with the thread....
Quick question for people who made buttery spread, did you use a blender, or a elec whisk? thanks

I had my first go at making one of these recipes yesterday and chose this as it looked the easiest!
I used an electric whisk, although people that make this regularly may be along to tell us otherwise. Blended well for me. I used olive oil and the spread has a lovely faint green tinge to it;spreads just great from the fridge. Comments from the kids were that it was a bit too milky so might try gradually cutting back on some of the milk to see what happens. I love knowing whats in it, but the trade off is is a few extra cals I guess.[/QUOTE]

It sounds like its a definate thing I need to try now.
    Thanks :T

potty Would you be able to tell me if there are any meal etc in the first planner that haven't had many surveys and I can put them into my next weeks meals. Thanks

There are some things in the first month that have no surveys yet .... :o
But I hope to sort that out in the next week...
    :)
Now, the way things are with the surveys, it is easy to see if or how many responses there are...
If you look at the survey results link, you can see how many persons have filled in the survey...

But if you still get stuck, let me know, and I will see whats what :D

Now that Weezl is resting is there anything we can be doing in her absence?
Lesley, Arty or Potty are there any recipes that dont have surveys or that need testing you 3 seem the best to ask and we dont want to stop this yet will be more difficult to pick up if we take too long a break.
If you think of anything let me know and i am happy to do what i can.
    Answer as above :D
    Ta shanks....:D

Off to catch up proper on the thread now :D
