Hi there
I have been reading along and loving every minute of it.. haven't tried any recipes yet as I have probably the fussiest OH in the world who is hopeless at trying new things or things he has decided he won't like!!
However, I am good at lists and admin type stuff so if you need things collating or indexing etc then please feel free to pm me. I AM going to try some of the cake type recipes as soon as I can pass them by his lordship and put them in the meal plan and will of course fill in the questionairre afterwards.
I can see you already have volenteers for most things so if I cannot be of any use to you then of course I understand and I still want to say how wonderful you all are and what a great thread it is.Diva.x

good morning all.
Well, I have to say that the breaking news from the other thread has made me want to wash my hands of Bob.:(
I think we've been very tolerant of Bob's needs wants and pecadillos.
But I woke this morning to this breaking news from Ceridwen's Kit list thread on old style::eek:Yep, they've always been two different things to me. Just like in your links
Ceridwen - tray bake will (as others have said) double up for other uses. It'll also do as a tray for a couple of cottage loaves, if Sheila wants a variety of bread shapes
SHEILA? SHEILA?
Who the flump is Sheila!
We give this chap all our help, love and assistance.... and he takes up with some strumpet called Sheila!
How very dare you Bob:mad:

ahem, back to business!
so, arty, a quick step by step to the way I'd go about doing an index: Start reading the thread backwards, and when you come to a post where someone has given a recipe, you will see that in the very top right of the post inside a greeny-blue pale border is a unique number of that post. If you click it, it will open just this post in a new tab.
Go to that tab and highlight and copy (ctrl+c) the url from the address bar in your browser. This is a link to just that post.
Go back to a post you are mid-way through writing to this thread, type the name of the recipe:
ie:
cauliflower cheese
then highlight this, click B to turn it bold, and then, still with 'cauliflower cheese' highlighted click the hyperlinks icon:That one, in case you're unsure.
A little pop up window will appear asking what the URL of your link is.
Paste the URL (ctrl+v) into the pop up box, and hit ok.
The words cauliflower cheese have now become an active hyperlink to just that recipe.
I really hope that helps!
You will be able to come back and add to your index post whenever you like, just by using the edit button which appears at the bottom of each post you write, so you'll be able to have your whole index in the one post
I'll then be able to link to your super index from post 1 or 2 and everyone will be very pleased because they'll be able to find all the latest recipes :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
Hope that's clear, but do tell me if it's all gobbledegook!

Just popping on quickly before I shut down before bed, I was wondering do you still need volunteers for testing the receipes? Or do you have enough now? I will check tomorrow in case you think I was being awkward by not answering or replying..
YAY, thanksDefinitely more testers required! Are you a vegetarian? Do you prefer testing cakes/snacks or main meals or luchtime pates and spreads?
We have a pate that only I have tried, a pasta dish with olives...

Hello Diva! What a great suggestion! We are in need of some collection of all of the nutritional info all in one place... have you got access to googledocs? A googledoc word document with them all in would be fab
The best way to find them all would be to click search this thread and then do an advanced search with the search term 'Beta-cryptoxanthin' I picked this because I'm pretty sure no-one's chatted about this nutrient apart from doing the analysis :rotfl:.
And then copy and paste the name of the recipe and all it's nutrient info into the same place?
How does that sound as a task?
Please say if it's too onerous, I'm sure there are smaller ones. I suspect there are about 11 or so to find...:A
Also, I would like to add....
There does seem to be quite alot of people, sitting/standing, and waiting patiently, arms out stretched, to catch any balls that you may not catch yourself
thank you Potty:T
I hope I can be clear headed enough to throw those balls out into the hands that are offering to help, instead of doing an impression of a headless chicken!!!

The list is now ready - and the optional extras list (ie things she is hoping that friends/relatives can pass on to her or will buy her as presents).
There is a bit of price-checking to do. On the Basics list I have put some of the things as £1 (as I know they can be bought at this price at discount shops) - but am hoping people can come back to me with exact prices from Asda (preferably) or Tesco/Sainsbury.
The final equipment is worked out though - and is posts 109 (basics list) and post 110 (hoped for presents/donations list) on page 6 (well its page 6 on my view of the computer anyway:)) of the thread on Old Style Board.0 -
Morning,
Hope you're all well. Had a family day yesterday so I wasn't online but thankfully you guys didn't go crazy in posting so I was able to catch up this morning.
I've got a confession to make.....we ended up having a few extra people for dinner yesterday, which meant that I didn't weigh the veg out and it's also meant that I have one chicken leg left for my pie!! I have some chicken in the freezer, should I use that??
This kind of thing may be something else to think about, unless we already have. What do we do about unplanned or even planned dinner guests?
Oh, but on a more positive note, I've managed to be able to borrow a pudding basin if you want me to still go ahead....:)0 -
Thanks Weezl-I will start in a min!

This is truly amazing, you know
I've been thinking over the weekend that there are a lot of recipes in the thread that will end up getting lost as the thread shoots through the stratosphere and Weezl's official menu plan changes, plus all the crucial nutritional info - and I was gonna (cautiosly, as I know how unpredictable my life can be, resulting in me vanishing offline for long periods of time on occasion) offer to help out with an index for all those.
So, when I started catching up with the thread this morning, I was bouncing up and down on my seat, all excited and ready to volunteer.... Only to find out, by the end, that it's all been taken care of already :T By people who aren't such slowcoaches as yours truly, as well
But how wonderful to have a bunch of people on exactly the same wavelength, don't you think ?
Anyway, if there is any aspect of indexing left to do I'd be very happy to help, just please, please bear in mind that I might not be able to be nearly as quick as some of you as the physical-reality life has this incovenient habit of intruding at most inconvenient moments....
Incidentally, Weezl, we are testing bacon turnovers for dinner tonight - when you initially posted the linkie to the recipe, !!!!!! here said that he fancied trying them, but as they are too heavy for our breakfast, we might have them for dinner. So we shall report on how that works for us pretty soon, hopefully0 -
"we have a pate that only I have tried,"
Weezl do you have a link/recipe for your pate ? Might be able to try it for oh's lunches ???0 -
allegra thank you so much :A
Arty if you find it's all a bit much please feel free to offer allegra some of the indexing, let's spread the load if we can?
Allegra what are you having with the turnovers?
An update on family #3
At the start I said I thought that by going mostly vegan, our third mythical family would be able to have a fresh piece of fruit each everyday. Sadly this is not possible, since vegan sources of calcium are more costly than our milk powder.
If family 3 are happy to eat vegan meals (ie lose the taste of cheese and eggs from the diet) but keep the milk powder in cooking for a calcium booster then we may be able to achieve it. What do people think? It was because after FR eggs, a FRESH piece of fruit consumed daily was the next non-negotiable in both our polls AFAIK:)
I know this meal planner is further along the line, but I would very much appreciate people's thoughts, since there are some pieces of research at my end that it makes sense to do for all the planners at once rather than having to replicate the same job 3 or 4 times
