Been following this thread from the start (another lurker!!) and think its fab!
Just wanted to comment on the free range egg thing.
I would suspect that the majority of vegetarians would certainly buy free range eggs over battery eggs.
As for meat eaters, there is no doubt that the programme on battery birds had a big impact, and I certainly know of a lot of people after that who proclaimed they were going to buy "happy" chickens, only to stop after a couple of weeks because of the cost.
I am guessing that maybe people feel they can afford to pay the little bit extra for free range eggs and feel they are making a bit of a difference, even if they can't afford to pay a lot extra for "happy" meat.
Hope that makes sense, seems a bit long winded to me when I read it back! :rotfl:
Ladyshopper - the happy egg buying veggie!
Oh, and good luck with Kester Weezl. x My 2 children have exactly 11.5 months between them, and I wouldn't have had it any other way.0 -
I've just been looking at the DT thread - haven't posted on there as I didn't want to antagonise anyone!
I voted on the poll as I realise that when I voted on the OS poll I hadn't really thought it through. On OS I voted for the eggs...but like others I hadn't really got that this was a breadline situation. So this time I voted for the 5 a day/omega 3/health option...even though I keep saying that I'm not reaching those targets as it is!weaving through the chaos...0 -

and the matchbox sized portion of mince with no tomato or onion or oats to bulk it out served with I think 30g of pasta made me smile as well.
I'm going to bed now, I think my not very nice streak is emerging and it really oughtn't to:(:)
