aw poor cani :( I know how you feel. I got really discouraged this morning too. We're lucky we've got the thread as our support eh?

I think shirley will need to be told about MSE old style, they'll help her out of any food related jam :)

What type of bread were you making? I've never done the hobnobs :o but I'm normally OK with bread!

Thank you for your support makes me feel better - I really dont want to go out and buy a loaf of bread but DH had said he loves HM bread 'but it just doesnt last as long' - I wasnt really sure what to do so I followed your no knead bread but added a slug of oil (in the hope it would add moisture) I should learn to never go off track it never seems to work, so my little loaves of bread stayed little and after cooking got heavier:( I dont know if it was the fault of the oil or something else I did so far undiscovered.

Can I ask why you were discouraged this morning? Its one emotion I would never have put with your name :j

yes please! can it be a poll? a bit like my one on old style?

do enjoy your dinner, a little of what you fancy does you good;)

cani, thanks for asking about discouraged feelings:A

erm.....I think it's just that I know I've got limited time before kester comes and so I'm kinda sprinting and seeing how far we can get, and then I feel like we have something special, and then it kinda unravels when new knowledge comes along, and we realise we've made a nutrition boo-boo or something:o, and then I feel embarrassed and maybe I should stop.

But I really care about this project, and I keep remembering that quote about how 'all it takes for evil to triumph (bob and shirl to go under) is for good men (women!)
to do nothing'. And then that burns away in my soul and I try again!

Weezl-It doesnt have to be done by the time Kester is here or even by the time he is one or two. You have loads of time to work this out so dont worry!!!

Alsoly-I dont think you ever should feel embarrassed!!!!!!!!!!

I think they were pretty helpful categories, but I didn't realise powdered milk would be a biggy, and I think maybe we need to include something on following all govt healthy eating suggestions like 5 a day and oily fish once a week.

The other thing I feel was shortsighted following wyebird's helpful feedback was that I didn't make it clear what else would be at stake if people picked one non-negotiable. ie perhaps we could make it clear that a decision to have fresh milk in tea and coffee could mean literally living on porridge and beans on toast at every meal! :rotfl:

Can you manage all of that in a poll and an opening post? I think I've asked a lot there, so feel free to pop back and say if it's unwieldy!

    Thanks loads :)

What you are doing is admirable and there will be times that boo-boos occur but thats how we develop ourselves and get better, at least the boo-boos are being addressed and tweaked and not ignored - if that were to happen then that would be one major BOO BOO:rotfl:
This plan is probably a long way off from being 100% perfect and ready for publishing but you are already helping so many people - I cant help keep thinking about the quote in your blog 'Give a man a fish you'll feed him for a day Teach a man how to fish and you'll feed him for life'
My friend who is worried about supporting her DD1 through uni cant decide on a budget food hamper or a luxury food hamper to send her off with - I quoted your 'fish' quote and she thought it was very 'deep' but wondered if she should buy her a fishing rod next time she was in Mr Ms :rotfl:'As long as you teach her how to use it I said'
My own DD1 - already at uni- rang yesterday to tell me how much she had managed to buy from her local supermarket with a tenner that I had sent her (I could have given her a lot more but decided on the 'teach her to fish' method)
So please Weezl I hope you find comfort in the fact that you are helping a little corner of the far south west :) :T
