It would be total chaos to have all marks adjusted and new ones re-issued and this would throw the whole system into chaos. I think investigating these issues is relevant for next years P7s but IMHO it is too late to change anything for this years lot.
There is absolutely nothing we can do to change our childrens' scores (if a re-mark has not been requested). Section G of the Registration form stated: “I acknowledge that if I do not seek such a re-mark within that period of 14 days, the original mark obtained by my child shall be final and not subject to challenge, and if I seek a re-mark, the mark obtained by my child on such a re-mark shall be final and not subject to challenge”.
With this is mind - why are the AQE not issuing the results of their ‘statistical and analytical checks’. Their quietness would lead one to believe that all is not as it should be and maybe that is why they are looking at a ‘single entrance exam’. After all "what's to be seen is not to be wondered at"...0 -
Hope no-one put Crumlin Integrated College on your forms, have you seen the news today! Hope they can turn that school around quickly for the sake of the pupils attending it!
Good luck!0 -

I know. I couldn't believe what I was reading. I totally agree with you and hope they can turn things round.0 -

Its against forum rules to promote your services on here. Also its a well known fact that good tutors don't need to advertise, they are booked up well in advance.0

Last year I would have been delighted to see this service. It would have saved me money (not that I used a private tutor) on the cost of practice papers and perhaps provided some structure. Especially when I had a school that did not help prepare children for any test. Yes, I agree too late for many of us......but don't knock it. There is still no formal agreement on a single 'unregulated' transfer test for next year though some progress has been made. I have friends with p6 children who are getting really really anxious about next year. Because I've been through the 2010 fiasco doesn't mean I wouldn't be happy to find some help for my friends and their children - just in case 2011 is a mess as well.0

2011 is almost guaranteed to be a mess. Firstly the catholic church say they are planning to pull away from selection whilst on the same day the PTTC (or whatever they are called) and AQE are meeting to try to agree a single test. It seems both ran really well this year (really?) and they can't decide which one to use. Oh and they can't decide whether to charge or not.
Good luck this year's P6 as unfortunately it is all ahead of you.0 -

The uptake on the tests was great but nobody has polled us since - showing all our dissatisfaction - I dont see any forum on the GL-Assessment tests! And as for that Ruane one - smug as anything on the TV the other night when the news came through about the Catholic church plans. Would love to see her run for election again and see how she does this time!0
