How is everyone? Its been a while?
How are all the kids getting on? Mine is absolutely loving Grosvenor. Definitely the right choice of school. I'm amazed that apart from the £40 school fund they never ask for money.
Just thought I'd bump the thread for this year's people. Have been reading their thread and feeli g their pain. Same worries exist.0 -
Hi Ex Spend, hard to believe it's been a year! Well, we're just back from our daughters parent evening/report doodah and we are thrilled. BHS has brought out the best in her, LOTS of homework to keep her busy and every so often I remind her how lucky we are that she goes to the local school and the opportunites she gets etc. Besides the french school trip they don't really ask for much money but lots of ruddy sponsor forms and what not. Can't believe our ba's will soon be the 2nd years and our (well placed tbh) hysteria is a distant memory. My other ba is only P.1, so I can block out the mental trauma of it all for a good while yet!Total debt £20,000 Northern Rock loan:eek:
Debt free date April 2016!!!!:eek:0 -
Well, form is away this morning, decisions made, just have to wait and see if she gets in which should be a formality 'cause she has older brothers at the school which is the second criteria0

My daughter got 92 this year in the AQE. Not a bad score but from what I am reading a 100 or better is required for a spot in a Grammar School.
Is that correct ?
Good luck all and hope your choices get the reply you wanted.0 -

It all depends on the school and the number of applicants they have with higher scores:o
Some Grammar schools take scores of under 80, it all works on supply and demand in certain regions of the country, I know the Belfast grammars are always over subscribed, so they can pick and choose at the higher scores.
92 is a great score BTW well done to your daughter :T
You have obviously specified certain schools in your meeting with the headmaster after the results came out, we have all had a very long wait until the 28th:eek: but only 2 more sleeps (or not) left;)I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -

The standard this year must have been higher than last as my dd got 92 and didn't get into any of her 4 choices of grammar :-( Very sad little lady but we had prepared her as best we could as she did not meet any of the criteria. Last year 92 would have got her a place so we are dissapointed but very determined to make the best of it. Hope all your little ones got where they wanted..xx0
