Happy birthday to DS :bdaycake:
Anguk
Great news about Martyn :j and so pleased for you all.
Gave dd a lift to work and got a huge shop done at Morrisons, fruit, veg, fish, eggs and bread, chickens, ham shanks and veg to put in freezer.
Lovely and quiet as dd(16) is out for the day and her older sister is at work.
Frightened DH by saying how much I was enjoying him being home and not having the phone ringing about work etc.;)
(((nic)))
I just saw your post about your dog and am so sorry the decision had to be made so soon, but it sounds a quick and merciful way to happen. The spot in the garden sounds lovely.
Hugs to all and see you later"This site is addictive!"

Hugs to anyone else that needs them.
Had a lazy day so far today. Did have to brave tesco for bread and milk and a couple of other things, hate it in there on a Saturday.
Thinking about making a marble cake in a bit, got Simple Cakes by Mary Berry out the library, and it does look very simple. Most of the recipes seem to be chuck everything in altogether and mix, thats my kind of baking!!
Have just let DS go out to play, he has been procrastinating over his homework all day!0 -
MSD thanks for thinking of us

Good afternoon,
I haven't posted much in the week as I have been mostly cleaning black dust off everything. That process is still ongoing. It's a big house and there's a lot of dust. The new bathroom now has a ceiling again and a waste pipe and some plumbing. The plasterer is coming on Monday to skim the walls and plaster the ceiling. I have chosen the bath, and just need to decide what colour the walls will be painted now.
So far this week, to keep out of the way of the builders I have been to see my friends new baby, and yesterday I took my friends mum out to lunch. I also took my friends mum to Home and Bargain and Aldi today as she has cracked a rib and can't get about as much as usual. My aunty has taken Grumpy to the cinema, so it was a pain free shopping expedition.
I have made quorn shepherds pie for our dinner as Grumpy doesn't like ordinary mince.
Take care all of you0 -
Nic - Hugs to you both xxYou know your getting old when yougo to the pub sit outsideand admire the hanging basket

So sorry Nic. Tears in my eyes as I type as I know what our furry friends mean to us xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Nic, I'm so sorry to hear about your doggy, I'm crying for you as I type. Love to you all.xx0

Nic....hugs, been there several times....never easy.
Molly...take things easy.....should you see doctor do you think.
Taplady...sorry to hear about your aunt.
Cold here still but thankfully no rain.
Dinner to-day will be beef stew with steamed potatoes....OH hates stew so he will not have much, will put left over in freezer.
Eventually took boiled Seville oranges out of freezer and have chopped them for marmalade, since there is just the two of us here we don't eat much marmalade/jam, not sure why I bought them but marmalade will last and will give some to 'children' as they visit.
Hugs to all who are not feeling well, take it easy, I don't feel as if its Spring yet so still a misery-guts

Afternoon all.............(((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) if you need one.
Another unpacking day, however most of the boxes are now empty, I have to put the units togetehr that we got yesterday and sort out whats going where.
OH found the washing powder last night, put a load in to wash this morning....no water.....the chumps connected the washer but did not turn the water on, prats!!!! I have to wait until K lands again to get him to turn it on.
We have given up unpacking the antique china and glass the unit for it is to go up on the wall when ds2 comes, so no point in getting it out the box to get mucky.......I am so glad we resisted buying the unit in Ikea yesterday we would not have got it in, our blessed settee is bigger than you think.....as soon as I can afford it, its going.....we cannot even open it out as a bed the wood burner is in the way so I will be investing in a deluxe camp bed for DGS to sleep on.
I am shattered, my sewing room is still a mess, but it will have to wait until next week now, I just cannot do any more. I have cooked turkey breast for supper we will have it with rice, I was going to use yogurt until I opened the pot and discovered it was vanilla flavour, I have some cream so will stick a slug of that in. Rice has mixed veg in, gives it a bit of colour.
I am going to have to ring sky on Monday I have emailed them, but keep getting daft answers, its going to be another 4 weeks at least, they will come and do the TV first, then the phone and after 48 hours I can try and get the router connected. I have to get them to move the main telephone line into the sitting room, its in the hall at the moment. Heaven knows what that will cost me, we need a dish as well, guess sky will rip me off for that as well.
The house plants do not seem to have suffered, I stood them all in water in the sink today and they are looking ok. The orchids have been well soaked and drained, the purple one is a picture.
Its been a grey day and wet for most of it. I have someone coming to collect 2 of the wardrobe boxes tomorrow and someone else wants some of the packing cases, I have them on freecycle. OH says there were 80 boxes all told.
Monday I have to have the ladder in and investigate the attic, I have two machine boxes to put up there, see how much insulation there is and if there are any boards.......we have brought some with us. I might see about getting more insulation in and then get DS2 to board part of it for storage. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Evening all
Redruby, I have no idea what you mean, lol.
Hugs to Nic.
It's gone very cold here this evening & I'm blowed if I'm putting the heating on, so I'm off to do some crochet whilst wrapped in a blanket.
Have a good evening everyone.
Hugs Hester.
