You have me sat here crying for you. x
It will get easier, we still miss Chester dreadfully but we think about him in such a positive way. Only this week I woke up with a start - my parents were staying so DD was in our room, I woke up to her snoring & thought it was him. We are seeing his best pal's owners tomorrow & we know the two of them will be looking down on us all, laughing at all their old antics.
Go back & read Rainbow Bridge - such a wonderful thing to read at this sad, sad time x0 -
It will be a year this week since we lost our wonderful Chester. I was just posting a comment about some of his ailments (he had a stroke when he was younger & a fatty lump op) & though about this thread.
We still miss him, the children still talk about him all the time. We are ready now for a new addition to the family. We should be moving soon & we have said that once we move we will get a puppy.
Ellie is just about over her phobia of dogs, I have not reread the thread so can't remember if I posted about it, but after he died she got very scared of dogs, she had started getting nervous after he had half his ear bitten off (it was quite traumatic, with lots of blood all down my arm where I was clamping it together as it was pumping out!) but this escalated after he died & she would not go near any dogs. She is still nervous, but she will stroke some & she is getting better each week.
RIP Chester, we will remember you always x0 -
You know, jackomdj, getting a new dog was the only thing that helped me when I had to have my darling old dog put to sleep. I was devastated and just knew I had to get another dog.
That dog is three now and a constant delight...he's SO like the old dog it's like doggy reincarnation, and a tremendous comfort to me.
If you feel ready for another dog, do it. I'm sure you will never regret it.0
