I bought a dress set for my little girl on saturday to wear when she was out with my parents yesterday.
When I went to pick her up, her mother gave me back the dress as it still had the security tag in.
When I rang the store this morning the woman on customer services thought it funny that the tag had been left in. I however did not.
I've got to make a special trip out to this particular store tonight to get the tag taken off.
Do you think it would be too cheeky to expect something for my trouble and inconvenience?

How did you get out of the shop without the alarms going off?0

The alarm didnt go off!- It would have been easier than having to go back tonight!
I have got the receipt!- honest!!!0 -
i would ask for some vouchers/money for the inconvenience - i would say that you are rather annoyed as you have had to pay additional petrol/bus costs to return to their store due to a mistake on their part - why should you have to pay for it (on top of wasting your own time) when it was down to their member of staff?
i have done similar in Ikea before (when there was a bit missing off an item) and they paid for my fuel
worth asking! you never know you might get lucky!0 -
A few weeks back my husband bought a Sat Nav from Toys R Us, got it home and when unpacking it found that it had already been used. I called the store and they said bring it back and I said 'what about petrol money, we've a 50 mile round trip'. She said she would see what she could do, hubby got there and was about to leave and the manager arrived waving a £10 note at him and saying that was all he could give him, was that OK!!
Never hurts to be cheeky but call in first and ask and if they say no, ask if you can send it instead them as you'll have to pay for fuel/parking/etc...0 -
Something similar happened to me at New Look & I complained about having to travel all the way back into town and they offered to pay for my train ticket which was £4.20 if you dont ask you dont get!0

Happened to me in River Island, all I got was a dirty look from the manager:mad: Any one would think it was my fault that their staff were incompetent!Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Same thing happened to my son in Burtons, the manager said they would pay petrol money as compensation if I took it back. My son took it back for a refund and forgot to get the compensation! KIDS!0

How pathetically stuck up are you?
Failing to remove a tag does not instantly class someone as incompetent. It is simply a mistake, or shall I assume that you are perfect and never make a mistake!?
Do you realise how hidden some of these tags are etc. To be honest with your kind of attitude I'm not suprised the manager gave you a dirty look. Good on him/her.
The sooner people start understanding each other and respecting each other the better.
I expect I will get banned for this comment, but felt I needed to voice this opinion, whether people agree with it or not. It is after all simply my opinion.0 -
