Just in from one of the longest days ever snow was heavy this morning so left the house at 6 to get to the train station took 3 1/2 hours to get to work.
Boss kindly let us go at 4.50 so 4 1/2 hours later and a few pub stops I have just got in, my car is abandoned in a pub car park miles away but i have had my excercise for the week i am so tired. I will not be going in tomorrow we are now about 2ft under snow, I wont get paid but my life is not worth one days wages.
Moneywise not had time to look but i do need to make some payments and DH got paid today, only 17 days until payday the countdown begins again.

No im up had to phone in work, Its still snowing we have about 2-3ft now and i cant open our back door we are literally snowed in. Im just thinking how much money im going to save, one job today is make a meal plan from the cupboards.

Thanks taxi looking quite positive as im not going to get in to work this week, DH is stuck in work but he has clothes and shower facilities there so he should be fine that has to be a saving of at least £100 in petrol for this week.

Looks like i will be saving on my food shopping the week too as nothing is getting on or off our road for a while now could be another £50 saving, going to venture out see if any neighbours need anything we have a few elderly around us.

I can't believe how much snow you have had and that your DH is stuck in work!

I think they should pay you as its not your fault! Has anyone made it in?

Not really sure my boss got in but he comes on the motorway and lives about 40 miles away, I dont even have a car at the moment

isnt it astonishing how the country just comes to a halt every time there is a change in the weather? We are just not geared up for anything other than mediocre, inoffensive weather...

Its just bizarre however i havent seen so much snow since i was little and that was sometime ago.
Been to the local shop and got a few tins of veg and a bit of meat that should keep us going for next week cheap shop another saving :j
