No not mine but I understand why you are soon to be ex postie. Terrible how they treat staff as well as customers. Hope you get something better soon.

It's not easy for me to get to a post office to collect it, also they charge for this service. Should I really have to pay them to collect it myself.

I often collect mail (unlike you, I can get to the depot, and it saves the kind of aggro you are going through!) and they have never charged me!

Irritating that I have to do it though. The time will soon be upon us when the Royal Mail will consist solely of some giant shed in a field in the middle of the country, and if you want to post something you will have to take it there yourself, where it will sit gathering dust until the intended recipient comes to get it, having driven 100 miles on the off-chance after listening to a recorded message on the 'phone for a week.

Yikes! But since my local post office was closed (where have you heard that before?) the depot for me is barely further than the nearest post office.

Thanks, just tried, it came up with all the other (smaller) ones in nearby towns but not mine. Might still try & ring one of them to see if they will pass my complaint on.

Had given up with the parcel or parcels (still don't know if there were 2 or if it was the same one they tried to deliver twice). Eventually (about 3 weeks) they will hopefully return to sender who ever that is and if it was important I guess they will get in touch with me.

Having said that a similar thing happened to me just before Christmas 2008 & I could not get to pick it up. Then they lost it and I never did find out what it was or who it was from.

Custardy, just viewed this thread and was amazed to see my place of work staring me in the face (Salford office) I believe you are quitting, is this because like me things seem to be going from bad to worse?

oh no,i have been summarily dismissed
officially its due to my sick record(supported by medical records with an eye problem that just requires time to heal)
unofficially a great way to clear out a full timer as the new budget is being planned
i 'just' tripped a stage 2 and then stage 3

Well as they say, it's always best to desert the sinking ship, so to speak.
Anyway good luck for the future!
