Royal Mail not delivering

:mad::mad:Sorry I am just so angry at this email from the Royal Mail .. wonder if any one has any advise to offer.

Story so far...
They tried to deliver something to me last week, I was out (I am not able to wait in all day every day for the postman just in case there’s something that will not fit in my letter box).
They leave a card, I get on to their website and arrange redelivery in 2 days time to a friends house (who is home all day).
They don't show up there on that day. However I get another card in my letter box. (now I don't know if there are 2 parcels or if that was the same one).
I go back on the website & ask for redelivery in another 2 days time to friends house again.
Two days later no parcel at friends house and this time not even a card at mine.
Impossible to get hold of anyone by phone so I email them...

Reply to my email
Thank you for contacting Royal Mail.

I'm very sorry to hear that your item had not been redelivered at the time
you contacted us via email. Having said this, I would like to explain that
we do not have specific cut off times for delivering mail: our obligation
within the terms of our postal licence does not specify a time by which
deliveries should be made - and experience tells us that delivery times can
vary on a daily basis as a result of many different factors.

I'm hopeful therefore that you may have received your item by the time you
receive this response. If your item has still not been redelivered however,
please let me know by replying to this email quoting reference number. I will then investigate the failure with the Delivery Office
Manager and reply to you as soon as my enquiries are complete.

It may also be helpful if I explain that Royal Mail are only legally
obliged under the terms of our Licence to make one attempt at delivery.
Any additional redeliveries are on a goodwill basis.

Thanks again for getting in touch and sorry for any problems you've had.

Regards

Wish I could but they don't answer the phone, I hold on for ages then eventually it just cuts me off, costs a fortune as well. I have tried all different times of day.
I can not get to the sorting office to collect either.

Get it delivered to your workplace or a local postoffice which you could collect from.

How does it cost for an unanswered phone call?

From the OP, they have already tried delivery to another address, but it seems like they tried to deliver to the original address;-

The Royal Mail answers your call and then puts you on hold. You start paying when their equipment answers the call. Their latest money-making idea as all of their numbers are 0845.

They have made loads out of not answering my calls, given up trying to phone them.

Not in my local office, the phone rings, if they don't answer it does not go to "hold"

Check out saynoto0870 for the geo number in place of the 0845, I use the geo number when I need to call them.

I was trying to get it redelivered but they just keep taking it back to the original address.
It's not easy for me to get to a post office to collect it, also they charge for this service. Should I really have to pay them to collect it myself.
They are being paid for a service, that service is to deliver mail.

Really angry  that they now say they don't even have to redeliver & it is a goodwill gesture. The card they leave doesn't say that & the arrange a redelivery part on the website doesn't either.
