You came here and wanted our feedback. The feedback is clear and concise. You don't have a case and you're in the wrong.

OP has obviously come on here thinking they're in the right hoping to get some moral backing for their actions, and instead found the truth too hard to swallow.

they cant face the fact that they're in the wrong, as their abusive PM to me proves. (btw, your PM makes me laugh in your face for the 'Please, no more abuse' plea 2 posts previous to this)

my final piece of advise on this is for OP to put their tail between their legs, apologise to the bank for spending their money and then crying about it for 3 years, and beg to be put on a repayment plan before they sell it on to the real bullies

i jsut thought people would have an opinion on banking errors, its already been sold to a recovery company. but once they knew the facts they sold it back via the courts saying this is a banking error. but thankyou paddy.

i am trying to get the bank to admit they are in the wrong,. what exactly is wrong with that.?

they are called un-authorised overdrafts, but these are for nominal amounts. Like £100 or so. not £1200 for a unemployed worker who has been overdrawn for months.

such advise is not needed when incorrect. you sound like a nat west manager trying to explain their way out of an error they have made with more lies and incorrect information.

this is exactly why i am fighting this..

The bank systems won't just look at the past 4 months though will they?

My account is sparadic being a student. Every now and again I get a payment for £1300 odd. Now if the bank only looked at the previous 4 months they would flag this up. A bank account holder getting no payments for 4 months then suddenly reciving £1300. That is odd.

The system in place works. If you don't like the system then you cannot get compensation from the bank, as you agreed to it already.

The T&Cs do not state the un-authorised overdrafts need to be for smaller amounts. You say they do. Please show me where it says it.

this is exactly my point young lad. i am showing you the banking system doesnt work.. in my case.

and there is no rule as to how much you can have in or out your account. to think the bank would think you are a big dodgy gangster because you only have £1300 every three mths or so is silly. they have much more intelligent peaces of equipment.

perhaps i should change my wording to "a good will jesture" from "compensation"

and yes a student would have a poorer credit score and "in house bank limits. so you would ofcourse get less allowences. such as the amount of credit they will give you or un-authorised overdraft. therse limits are set in house by the banks on your account, which you dont get to see. ask them if you dont believe me... here is your fac from me.

Yes but thats not what you are saying, you are saying its unfair the bank gave you this big overdraft when you thought you shouldn't have. The bank thought otherwise and thought you deserved it, so gave it to you.

The bank isn't reposnsible for telling you how far you can go into your un authorised overdraft, thats for you to decide and if the banks think you are going too far, they will then stop you, however, the bank didn't think you had gone too far.

Can I ask whether you changed your details with the bank to tell them you have just lost your job and have no income?

let me explain again mate. I wasnt given a un authorised overdraft. They failed to remove my current overdraft on my instruction. Which in turn allowed retailers to have the impression i had available funds. When they were putting my transactions through. As retailers have to confirm this before they take a payment. If i did or didnt you dont need to tell banks anything. But yes this is also my point. When i cancelled my overdraft you have to give them a reason. The reason was i am really bad with money and do not want to go overdrawn again. Funny that.

    That is wrong.

You can have no overdraft and still spend money and go overdrawn, even with an overdraft of £0.

Had your overdraft been removed, you could still have spent the £1,000 odd you did.

In future do not PM me. I do not 'attack' posters. I simply state that they are wrong.

sorry that pm wasnt meant for you. My mistake. Secondly. The bank has confirmed finally that if the overdraft had been taken away the payments wouldn have come out. And no sorry banks to not allow me or you to go 1000s overdrawn. Sorry you are wrong.
